@afxgroup if by the time Timberwolf is released as a (quite) stable beta, you'll still have no time at all, I would suggest to hand the job to others (by then I mean). Seems quite an important development IMHO specially considering that GNASH is progressing on Linux (ie shows promise)...

When I got back to Amiga I first refurbished my A2000 but I also saw an A1200 on ebay which came with several WHDloads pre-loaded on the HD. I seriously thought about it, but then visited Pianeta2009 and decided I wanted to try NG first (postponing the 1200 purchase). Time has passed and I feel no need for a classic anymore. if you happened to read my GUIDE you already know it's because I found a classic hiding inside my NG, and I now feel i have both all rolled into one. So Amiga NG for me, a true 360 degree Amiga experience.

Is this something that happens always, or only when you are experimenting with cassette stuff? and is it only on AOS4 or does it happen in the windows version too?

As Sundown said, Varthal is doing the job with help from Abalaban too.
There is a very active thread on an Italian forum where he provides test builds for him to keep an eye on bugs and performance issues on different HW.

Have you tried your experiment with the 2.1 windows version on sourceforge.net?

It would seem we have a naming incongruity there. Dr.Hirudo keeps the AmigaOS Atari emulators up to date with windows versions, however it could be that "2.3" on OS4 Depot is refering to the 2.3 version of the Amiga port (Amiga port of a 2.0x version, for example on PSP they are using version 2.0.3) or something. The latest Windows version as far as I know is version 2.1 (also check THIS thread on emulator zone), and it's the same you can downolad here from Dr.Hirudo's webpage: http://hirudov.com/amiga/Atari800.phpP.S Dr.Hirudo does NOT upload his stuff to OS4 depot.

Premise:
I use Mplayer Summer version (1.0rc3) and always choose MP4 as the video option (on SamFlex).
That said I don't remember to have experienced once the above behaviour. If you have a slow connection, or a connection that is bogged down by heavy downloads, it might be that you reach the limit (ie: the remaining part of the video is still downloading) though. Try pressing the space bar to pause playback early on, and allow for some "buffering" (basically allow for a bigger video chunk to download before continuing playback).

@alfkil Are you aiming at the "Amiga Hero" title? If you manage the native port it will be yours for sure :) Keep up the great work!

Always liked this software, they even reprinted the manual recently. I only wish for somebody to make a newer OS4 fully native version eventually...(pretty please! ).

Great! One advice: make a "news item" of it not just a forum thread! There are many at AW that only come to see the news and avoid the forums in order not to get involved in another endless feud. If you make just a report on the forum, these people will miss the news.

@kas1e Hans mentioned he was looking at it months ago, if you combine his expertise on graphic drivers with the work already done on Aros (which he can look at and learn from) you get only one thing: advanced 3D coming to AmigaOS soon

@virgola Thinking about it, if you use the on board sata you lose the PCI-E X1 slot anyway, so the best course would be use a PCI card for multiple sata. Unless you do without DVD-ROM at that point you could have an HD connected to the MOBO via your suggested adapter, all expansions slots available, and exchange data among machines by simply using Memory Cards and USB sticks.
I don't know about transfer speeds however, what would the difference be between an HD connected with this adapter, another connected to the PCI Sata card and another one connected to the on board Sata port? (big performance differences?)

The exhibitors list reminds me of the last big shows made in the UK when the Amiga population was way bigger. Wasn't there back then (distracted by other things unfortunately) but did read a bout them on back issues I purchased a while back (of italian magazine Enigma).
Since I came back to Amiga this is the first time that an Amiga show features such an impressive list of exhibitors, so much so that in "better economical times" I would have considered the trip.
Those that will attend are a lucky bunch indeed.

@Kicko @Tuxedo Yes indeed. Even without multy-channel recording initially (as he would also need to bring in his extreme audio driver) he said he would port the latest edition of Audio Evolution to AmigaOS. He his working on virtual intstruments support and other neat stuff, AE is a very nice software and getting better.

@abalaban keep up the good work and don't give up, I'm sure that for the parts you have some doubts about there will be people with the right knowledge to help you out.
Davy Wentzler said he would port Audio Evolution 5.2 (sans multi-channel recording initially) if your port gets finished!

@328gts As you know I have been mentioning RunInUAE because that is what I use and have experience with, when you mention these integration software on AW or Amiga.org, you may receive questions from unsuspecting users and I don't want to be cought off guard on programs I never used (however you should have noticed that after your remarks I now mention Gluae too).
Anyway it is unfortunate that two of my favorite developers end up (heatingly) discussing about these two fine integration solutions.
Trying to be constructive, we should first admit that if a major improvement is needed that has probably nothing to do with both (as it is E-UAE that should be further improved for starters).
@Kas1e I know you don't like the idea of third party integration efforts (and would prefer hyperion to do it) but don't try to pull weird case scenarios as expamples that corroborate your idea that they are dangerous. I'm quite a noob Aos wise and all I had to do with RunInUAE (again i only speak of it because I have experience with it) is insert my Amiga ForEver disk, and answer a few question and "ta da!" everything worked like a charm from the get-go, and that's for an (almost)AmigaOS impaired noob like myself. I'm sure Gluae is great too, and that both can receive further updates to complete the picture.
