Apparently, terminillis has had Gutenprint ported as part of the FinalWriter project. I wonder if that could be of any help once the OS4 port of FinalWriter is finished?

Our second main topic will be the AmigaOS and its current development team - who is actually behind the development of AmigaOS3.2? Part of the team will be present with their own booth at Amiga38 and will be available for questions and answers. Camilla Boemann will travel from Denmark and hold a stage presentation on behalf of the team.

Unfortunately I can't make it this year, but this part would be the highlight of the show for me. Hope it gets videoed. I think we in the windswept OS4 camp can all use some inspiration from the OS3 dev team. They are doing a marvellous job, despite the circumstances.

This will look for ARexx class in "CLASSES:classes/arexx.class", where it can never be found. The path is "CLASSES:arexx.class".

@Capehill

Does ShaderJoy really use OpenLibrary() to open BOOPSI classes? I suggest you use IIntuition->OpenClass() instead.

@densho

Thank you for using Rave!

In all honesty, I'm not happy about the program's zooming functionality: it's not as good as I'd like it to be. The way it works very much stems from how the soundeditor.gadget is designed, which is not my original work. For example, you cannot set a particular zoom ratio (say, 30%); instead, the gadget zooms in/out and then reports what the current ratio is. I'd like it to work differently, but then I'd have to rewrite a good deal of the gadget code.

Improving the zooming is on my to-do list, but currently I feel I'd better implement recording (planned for version 1.8) and finally write some effect plugins.

Solution is to create a custom ISO or USBBoot drive replacing ehci.usbhcd with the version from the AmigaOS 4.1FE update2 archive or the mouse and keyboard wont work.

I would expect this to be the dealer's job, not the customer's. Especially when such an expensive machine is in question.

Additionally, here is a list of national authorities that deal with customer protection. I'd suggest that you contact your local one, explain your problem, and ask for advice/assistance in contacting (and filing a complaint with) the French authority or authorities.

As I said, bring it to the attention of authorities. France is a civilized country that has customer protection laws, and you have every right to defend yourself.

Haha, so when the Tabor board comes out or that new notebook in the pipeline from Acube, we still can only use a single core?

As it has already been mentioned in this thread, multicore support is being worked on by the kernel team. The first target machines will be the X5000 and the A1222.

AmigaOS was in no way designed for multicore operation, so the task is taking time.

Re: WB boot hangups - a solution

Just can't stay away

I used to have a slightly different WB boot problem. More often than not, my X5000 would boot into an empty grey screen with an empty screenbar.

I removed X-Dock from WBstartup but the problem persisted. In the end it turned out that, over time, I had installed a few AHI drivers for cards I don't use, and one of these seems to have been causing the hang-up. Since I removed all unnecessary drivers from DEVS:AHI and DEVS:AudioModes, I've never had such a problem.
