Finally I did my order today and payed by paypal. I was planning to buy it long time ago.

It´s a pitty that there´s no download or e-mail option for the full version purchase.

Don´t worry about the look and design, its surely the smalles problem! Maybe we made it skinable.

Send me the code for some osd(test, level, color) function which displays a transparent window with a string and some blocks like in your screenshot and I'll add it to mixer

I´m just a graphic artist and webmaster. But i can code a little bit SDL-Basic

I ask "Whose", maybe he will code something native tool.

i was asking for a maybe new seperate tool, not mixer.

When you using your SAM in terms of a Media-Center it would be helpfull to have such "ugly green" good readable onscreen display instead of this small mixer window on high resolutions.

The solutions mentioned here are really solutions around the problem.

Onscreen Volume Display

Is there a tool or commodity that Displays the volume Control (Mute or percent of Volume) on the active screen like this:

Resized Image

?

That would be a very needed feature, because you are not forced to go to the Workbench screen and open mixer to show how the volume settings are.

Btw. grab the Backdrop-Image here for your Workbench:

Competition PRO Gold USB is recognized by USB-Inspector, but not as joystick so it doesn´t appear in Inputprefs to configure it under USB-Units.

Amiga OS4.1 support PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol). Since Update2 it works fine with my Canon Powershot A570IS. You got an preview Window if you plug in your Digital Camera and can choose the Fotos/Videos to download.

Filer Questions and Suggestions

Filer is a well designed and great approach to become maybe the standard File-Manager for AmigaOS4.1.x with all the missing features waiting so long (the long awaited directoy-up-button and opening only one window for directoy-browsing for example!)

Resized Image

Questions:

1. Is it possible to create something like a softlink to let open filer my DH0:, DH1:..etc content, something like a Amiga File-Window replacement by clicking on the Harddrive-Desktop-Icons?
2. Can Filer make use of the Drawer-Configuration, how which Drawer will be shown as icons only and others just as a list?

Suggestions:

1. If it´s not present, see Point Nr.1 and Nr.2 from Questions.
2. I figured out that a big drawer content take very much time to load. It´s a bit annoying. Isn´t it better to show how each file is loaded and display it directly instead of waiting until the complete content is loaded? This is the way the Workbench did it so far.
3. Add a Display feature for Photo-Directorys which have already a Thumbnail preview icon showing it in several columns and rows with the filename below it.

I?m a litte bit curious how fast the ram- and videoram-access will be on the sam460ex with its pci-express and ddr2-ram?

I?m asking, because i want to buy the 460ex beside my sam440ep.

@ssolie

Quote:
Compositing per se does not consume memory. The 3D eye candy effects consume the memory due to the way the layers (i.e. windows) are implemented. I can utilize the underlying IGraphics->Composite() function without having the 3D effects active at all. They are not one in the same.

Blaming "compositing" for memory issues is a common misconception started by the GUI prefs labels. The GUI prefs have since been rearranged and relabeled to try and remedy this misconception.

I dont wan't to flame here, it's not that easy for me to write what i really ment .

I like to use my Sam440ep for every days tasks. I like the composing-effects too. But i make heavy use of screens for everything so the 64Mb of my Sam are not enough also in 16Bit on 1600x1200 TFT. Thats a little pitty and i fall back to 16bit and compositing off.

But what i really wanted to say is, that this Lime-Notebook-Hardware isn't able to privide all nice Eye-Candys to the User due the restricted GFX-Memory.

I'm saving Money for the 460ex and then i will plug in a GFX-Card with much more memory to enjoy all benefits and eyecandies

>7"TFT / 8.9"TFT

not really useable for serious work

>Memory:256MB(512MB optional)DDRII

256MB could be a problem using OWB and Compositing

>1xEthernet 1XWiFi(optional)

Wifi only optional?
Sorry but Wifi is a MUST for an (portable) Laptop and one of its main benefits (be compleatly wireless), otherwise you can use also a desktop (Sam..etc)
