@amije Thanks for the anwser, thats great . Thats also great because no power supply problem with the mouse AND keyboard, at the same time, on one USB port, with the SAM motherboard. Maybe someone else could confirm also if work with same kind of adapter (PS/2 mouse and keyboard to USB) ???. Test required also with just one PS/2 to USB adapter (green adapter often). Would like to found if, on SAM, PS/2 work with PS/2 mouse and keyboard to USB adapters only ???

@all Thanks a lot for taking a look on this thread and do some tests with old ps/2 keyboards/mouse on SAM with an USB adapter. Thanks for making the tests and if the test is succesfull, have here a look about the model of the USB adapter and maybe a picture. My goal is to use my PS/2 keyboard with the A1200 and with the SAM by just removing the PS/2 keyboard from the 1200 to the SAM and reverse. For the mouse I will use an USB mouse. BTW, It's an important fact and I don't want to see in the futur a thread with a new SAM user with this kind of problems. With your actual help for this point, we will be ready to give the good information for the right PS/2 to USB adapter to buy to use PS/2 hardware with SAM successfully Maybeb IMM-Informatique, Relec, Vesalia,etc... will supply a good adapter for some new SAM owner (but we need to found a good adapter first Plese nubechecorre, tired of life,.... give to us more informations. Also, I have seen on supermarket, an adaptator: -PS/2 keyboard AND PS/2 mouse to USB. on the link with the 2 PS/2 cables, a little part with surely some compoments inside. Maybe this model could work ????

PS/2 to USB with adaptators with SAM440EP

hello,
I have been informed yesterday by IMM-Informatique, than old keyboards with PS/2 connector don't work wih SAM.
Mainly because the PS/2 to USB adaptators tested don't work with SAM hardware (no recognition on the uboot,...).
I would like to know if someone with aos4.1 and ps/2 hardware (keyboard / mouse) arrive to use successfully his ps/2 hardware, with maybe a special ps/2-> USB adaptator, with his SAM, actually.
thanks for the answer.

@gerograph Wait just some days or weeks Acube work on the problem and will release soon a new Uboot (as M3X said previously on another thread). We just now wait patiently (even if I have send a mail to Acube and M3x about a statement about this problem, can't resist).

@Snuffy Cowon A2, cowon X5L and Cowon I7 work great with classic amiga and spider2 with the great Poseidon with USB 2.0 or 1.1 used. USB HDD 80go and 160go work also great. In fact, ALL work great with the great Poseidon and chris is my GOD . As soon an owner of a sam, I understand now (by reading this thread) that I will continue to use the classic for USB because I don't think I will have the chance to have USB working with all my USB hardware.... BTW, after having my new SAM, I wil propose my help to test with my hardware for a better support about USB with AOS4.1 ,if needed.... - There is a place with RWO and AOS4.X users could share USB problems and test beta versions for USB on AOS4.X ??? As RWO said he is alone on USB for AOS4.x and no free time to see USB, why not having a contact with chris Hodges/poseidon author and ask him some help ???? - Why not transforming the poseidon 68k bounty also for AOS4 and not only for AROS. IMHO, this bounty, with help from chris, will be filled in a few days if all known that the best on the amiga world about USB will work together and with poseidon 68k sources as examples ??? bye

Did you install Debian? and are you at the same level of us i.e. Debian is installed but you can't boot it No, I have zero level Have baught a SAM+case, actually at IMM-Informatique, because I want to have a linux AND AOS4 installed on the same HD before shipping to me because I have zero level about linux and want to use/discover linux also. In first, all was just thinked that just missing some informations to install BOTH on the same SAM HD but now with the help of all on this thread (thanks to all), we know that the UBOOT for SAM allow to boot with just ONE OS and no more possible to install LInux disto at the same time. The SAM users interest is also to install other OS on their SAM with AOS4.X and even more than 2 because AROS will be maybe available to install on a SAM HD and maybe other OSES in the futur.... Have seen hunoPPC ask after help isn't a good sign (he know better on linux). As all now are in a stop state, Its why I ask IMPATIENTLY about statement from M3X/Acube about new Uboot for SAM. TOO BAD that AOS4.x betatesters and Acube not tried to install another OS than aos4.x on SAM and check if all work well before AOS4.X for SAM release (there are a need for this feature for some users also IMHO). Again thanks to ll involved on this thread to have tried to install LInux with AOS4.X on the same HD for SAM

@HunoPPC hum, apparently nobody arrive to use aos4.1 AND another OS on SAM, as joerg has explained partially, previously on this thread. Please Acube/M3X, make a statement about the futur possible use of multi-OS on SAM

@m3x Quote: In the meantime we're developing a new Uboot and Parthenope versions which will be able to boot multi OSes avoiding the current limits of boota
Therefore the suggestion is to wait a few more days for a new UBoot release.
M3x, do you have some news about the new Uboot and the improvments with the new Uboot ??? Please and for all, make precise answers because there are lots of new SAM users that don't follow well SLB, UBSLb, EXT2-3,... because most of them change classic amiga to SAM direclty or came from PC world. thanks for that OF course, understand that some new users would like now or in the futur install easily other OSES for differents reasons (real need, curiosity,....).
