@Raziel the reason why I am not at the max with my DVD burner is because it does not play DVDs well at UDMA4 so I prefer to use UDMA3 (and before you ask, I have these special cables needed for UDMA )

@LiveForIt
it happens with fryingpan 1.2.3 as well with a complete freeze (needs hard boot) ! seeding is dropping apparently during blanking and closing ONLY.
I am supposed to have a double fixed A1XEG4 (USB+DMA) and my HD is on a sii0680 anyway !
IRQs are like it should be be since the latest UBoot : 9-10-11-7 all on levels
very annoying, hope to get a less buggy and less expensive HW to enjoy OS4

ok here is a strange thing :
I was playing jensschoenfeld seminar with Dvplayer, seeding this same video with transmissioncli and trying to burn datas on a CD with fryingpan 0.41.
during blanking my CDRW, Dvplayer stopped playing, I noticed the seeding went down to 0, then got 2 GR (one from transmissioncli and one from TCP/IP stack) which leads to a total freeze system ?????
I then reboot and seeding again, burning datas with Fryingpan (but did not launch Dvplayer) and here again, the seeding went down to 0 (but no GR this time) and once the CD was burned, the seeding went up to normal again ???
whats that ? Can a burning SW disabled the TCP/IP ?
I have to try with latest FryingPan to see if the pb is with this one.

If you own a radeon gfx card, disable the 3dfxvoodoo.chip driver and if you own a voodoo gfx card, disable the atiradeon.chip, in kicklayout file of course !

ZIP disk write protected ?!

Hi All, I used to use ZIP disk (internal, IDE, formatted as MSD0, crossdosfilesystem) to transfer files between computers) and so far it was working ok. Now after OS4 final installation (fresh on spare partition), I copied over the zic: dosdriver from storage to devs: and adjsuted the device (a1ide.device) and unit(1). But my ZIP is declared as "Write Protected" and so far I did not find how to change that. This disk is shown as read/write on my A1200. Another annoying thing is that the ZIP icon is shown as a floppy and not as zipdisk as found in envarc/sys. I tried to jsut drag n drop the icon from one to the others but it did not work

- the scrolling bug of a window in name mode is still there (I mean you continue to scroll below or before the files) - drag n drop from ram: to sys: does not give a status window (something like 10% done bla) (I tried with a 30Mb file and thought waou it is so fast but in fact only half was copied when I rebooted )

PROBLEM : can not establish internet connection with a simple ADSL modem :
SOLUTION (given by mr_honk from AW.net) : Besides the "PPPoE" entry in DEVS:NetInterfaces an "ethernet" entry is additionally needed. You can build it using "Prefs/internet" (click Button "new" on page "interfaces", then give the network interface a shiny name, select "eth3com.device" as device driver, leave "use static IP address" and DHCP unticked and empty, click use). This will generate a file in DEVS:NetInterfaces with following content:
# DEVS:NetInterfaces/Ethernet # File generated by Internet 52.1 (10.12.2006) # On Donnerstag, 28-Dez-06 at 18:53:47 device=eth3com.device hardwaretype=Ethernet mtu=0

AwebPPC 3.5.08 (fresh install) : I am getting several locks up when starting (and when surfing all the time).
Snoopy is telling something about the plugins (gif and png)
EDIT: well it looks like it is a pb having setpatch addchipram=2 and the settings for images caching.
still I am getting a grim reaper on some sites, reporting a error of the awebpngdecoder

@ Bean : I got a perfect route so I played with my router a little bit. Not sure what I changed to make it worked (YES IT WORKS NOW) because the firewall was disabled. I switched the mtu from auto to 1492 because on the status window it was at 1460 for whatever reason ! Anyway, it does not solve the ADSL modem pb : people without router are having a hard time to connect to the net. Thanks for your help (and keep tunenet going )

@ IKIR : yes I am using the right parameters ! I tried creating new and by copying from my upd4 backup I tried my router too and here it is a different pb : I can ping any site (IP and name), the route is displaying, I can adjust the time through pool.sntp.org BUT I cant surf the net with internet browsers ! It was the same under upd4 BTW ... My A1 is online but there is something that prevents me from browsing (and I am using the default settings)

no network using adsl modem (same was with upd4).
the report log tells the following :
[2006-12-24 18:49:20] ERROR: Could not broadcast PPPoE active discovery initiation packet (Inappropriate state, Transmission failed - too many retrie [2006-12-24 18:49:22] Connection attempt failed [2006-12-24 18:49:22] (Resource allocation failure, Transmission failed - too many retries)
copying over devs/internet and devs/netinterfaces drawers did not help, copying all 3 devices from upd3 did not help (that did the trick on upd4)
