@HammerD The device random: is not created by odyssey but by the system. You must use the random dosdriver. I think it is located on sys:storage/dosdrivers. Move it to sys:devs/dosdrivers and launch it. After that, with each reboot, it will be launched automatically.

@kas1e Since yesterday, I have an error using Odyssey. This error arises regularly but I can ignore and go on. I confirm what Slayer wrote. Sometimes, the torrent file is compressed. Use unarc to decompact and use the bin file. However, I haven't found this kind of torrent file for ages.

@eliyahu
Could you be more specific about torrents didn't work ? when you launch ctorrent (or the guictorrent) do you have an error at startup ? A message like ""error, initial meta info failed." appears for some torrents and not for others ? If that occurs, it is normal, this is a known bug and it was corrected in an old patch.

My interest about Linux is to use a more modern browser.

AmiDark, I agree with Kas1e. Use compositing as Thellier told you already, no ?
I tested Cairo. You can make some cools effects easily but for me the cairo methods are not finished. If I remember well, I had problems when combing differents screens, only composing mode worked, or when I used the svg, pdf format as output.

Because of the reason detailed by ssolie, I never close a frozen window and sometimes don't play with grimreaper as that can be the way to freeze not only one program but all the system. I prefer waiting and soft reset. Ssolie, is it planned that the OS4 system supports a way to freeze or kill a task ?

Hi,
for me on sam 440, TW doesn't crash anymore at startup. I tried four times. But I have always this problem. Sometimes, when I want to access to some pages, TW is in a loop state. It tries to connect but the image connection (rolling circle) stays grey and not green. When this arrives, I know I must quit TW and relaunch it because no more connection are made. it is a pity. Even it is slower than MuiOwb, I like to use TW.

ncafferkey,
I think too, it is not a memory related problem.
I would like the author of roadshow to explain this error and may be we will find the cause.

Raziel, Yes you could be right but I made this test.
I launched four ctorrents application and use muiOWB in 100% cpu condition. I used the same ctorrent and create an another 100% cpu conditions. I used ffmpeg to convert some videos or I copied big files or I just listed a big directory. In these conditions, I never obtained an internet drop.
It is for me an internet connection problem but I am right with you. I can't be sure that ctorrent is not the culprit.

Here are my conclusions. I launched several ctorrents in shells without any problem. There were not any other program using internet. When I launch MuiOwb and the cpu is at 100% (heavy pages for example), the pourcentage of internet drop is very high.
I can't test with timberwolf as it is too slow on SAM 440.

Sorry, I wasn'tso precise. when I wrote I used DHCP, I wanted to say that the router uses DHCP to any material connected and now configure my amiga ip to 0.20.
In internet prefs, I don't use DHCP and use ip fixed for my amiga. I did that to configure the ports associated to my amiga, essentially ports around 2700 for my torrent connections.

Raziel, i give you my interface configuration: device=ppc440ep_eth.device hardwaretype=Ethernet address=192.168.0.20 netmask=255.255.255.0
As you see, I change the amiga address to 0.20 (before set to 0.2). Moreover, as you wrote to me, I set in the router the ip of my amiga. I can tell why I change my ip to 0.20. When I tried to configure in the router the previous amiga ip, I had an ip error (0.2 not valid). Nevertheless, the router accepted this ip (strange). I used the DHCP from 0.5 to 0.240 more or less.
Now I will test again and hope that no error will occur.

Broadblues,
I had plenty of memory but as soon I got the error, I will post here the output of memstat.
Sundown, I don't really understand what you want me to do. I couldn't ping to my router (192.168.0.1) but I can ping to my amiga (192.168.0.2) without problem.
My internet connections are blocked by the router, it is a local problem as the world wide connection is not stopped (tested by the download from my phone). At the beginning, I thought that was the "classic" ethernet problem and the remedy is to switch the router off and on. Here is not the case. The only mean to resolve the problem is to stop the interface (netshutdown) and to sart again (addnetinterface).

I put the minimum in internet prefs, the name of the interface, the gateway, local ip of my sam and printer.
The tools I use are wet (twice), Mui-Owb and sometimes tunenet when I want to listen some radios.
I will try your advice to remove them. It will take time as I don't know how to reproduce the error.
And as a bad guy told, I'll be back. :)
