Anybody interested in a NAPALM game via network?

Hi there,

since I like to play my old games from time to time I most often play RTS like NAPALM and Exodus.

Since I remembered that there has been a tcpip-Patch for NAPALM I downloaded it and gave it a try.
I used a WinUAE Laptop on one side and my A4000 060/CVPPC at the other side.

Setup of the game and getting connection in NAPALM between both computers worked like a charme. Also unit movement and scrolling have been quite playable IMO (well not the best speed of course).

So if anybody would be interested to play a NAPALM game via Internet, please just let me know.

Thank you. - After some try outs and so on I manged to get it up and running again. ATM everything is working again.
Had to reformat the partition and installed an old backup. Beginning with this everything was working as normal again, including network. I also got back up to date using AmiUpdate.

But I suffered (and still suffer) from really weird behaviour - beginning with an unreadable partition (General Device Failure ... Disk in unreadable format - hence the formatting and backup restore) ending now in system making "power off" sounds from time to time while Power LED is still on and also other stuff is running. This is still happening from time to time and everything seems to start over afterwards again (so I am getting the same sound as if I select Shutdown from WB or pressing power button long enough, afterwards everything is running up again according to fan and device noices like after a power on).

Help needed: Peg2 onboard network died

Hi there,

unfortunately the onboard network of my Peg2 died (I already checked cabling and router). Symptom: Both network LEDs (green and orange) are constantly shining (usually one is flickering for indicating the traffic) but no connection possible at all (cannot even ping the router=

Is there any chance I can repair this? If not, which network card do I have to buy and install which runs fine with AOS4.x?

Any help regarding my Peg2 is highly appreciated!

OWB 1.16 crash

HI there,

maybe this is already fixed for 1.23 but today I got a GR with Odyssey 1.16 where I hit "Ignore".
After a little while OWB presented me an own error requester (will upload the screenshot soon an link it here - or can pictures also be uploaded somewhere here?).
Unfortunately I do not know by heart where to capture the mentioned crash report from (not the one from GR but the one from OWB)! After I chose the crash-button nothing else happened but OWB froze.

Might this still be an issue for next version? Hopefully not!

Do not know much of them but some of them are already ported (whereas not all ports do reliably work).

Hi there,

and thank you BSzili for your great work (impressive list on your homepage!).

Late but still: I'd prefer some RTS games (we've got quite a few shooters already around). Preferably a AOS/MOS/68k/AROS native one but ports would be great too. 0.A.D already has been mentioned - do not know about specific other ones which are open and free but asume there are quite a few around?

Suggesstions welcome!

As said in my last post: When I change the ID (spoofing) in my settings to Odyssey I can close both popups as it is intended (already wanted to change my last post according to this info that both popups can be satisfied when ID is set to Odyssey).<br />
Will try the clean install soon. Did you (or someone else try) with changing the spoofing to IE8 and using all the other settings I described? IMHO popups should work independently from the spoofing. Strange enough that nobody else seem to get the popup from that sourceforge page (well I do not get it either when surfing there using Firefox)?</p>

Yes, content blocking is set. I also spoof as IE8 (but popup also appears when spoofing as Odyssey Web Browser or Firefox). Strange enough when surfing that site with normal Firefox this popup also does not appear!

When ID is set to Odyssey I can at least close the popup on the first example below!

Unfortunately not for me. When I click on the close symbol of the popup here after submitting a post nothing happens in Odyssey. Same goes for the popup at the site where EUAE-JIT can be downloaded from. Any special setting selected/deselected in version 1.16 for this?</p>

Hi again,

this problem occurs for me everytime when I for example put up a post here (where the "Thank you..." overlay popup occurs) or when I try to download EUA beta with JIT where also a overlay popup needs to be satisfied to disappear.
In both cases clicking on the appropriate areas (for example little closing cross here on Amigans-ThankYouForPosting-Popup) does nothing. The popup does not disappear. Seems like the interaction is completely not recognized by Odyssey.

Anybody else recognized sth. like this? Do I need to configure sth. to make these popups work?

Meanwhile I recognized that the problem with empty pages opening after Google search results have been clicked (regardless whether in same or new tab) only occurs if I have/had another OWB version running in parallel (which I always do when I have to handle pages like the https Sparda site for example)!

Meanwhile situation changed. I did not reinstall Odyssey nor did I change any configuration. The only thing I did was updating AOS4 beta with all available components (as I always do as soon as I go online using AOS4).
Now Sparde SSL still does not work but clicking on google search results opens now the resultpage (in same or own tab, depending which mouse button I use for clicking).
Before this only empty white pages have been opened (I took a screenshot and also let me show the HTML source of those blank pages, so if somebody is interested I can post it here).

At least one topic resolved for me (for whatever reason, maybe some MUI component, I do not have any clue).

Hi everybody, and I wish all of you a very happy and sucessful new year!

Even though I really enjoied the information regarding the new MUIOWB version for AOS4 it seems to be useless for me due to the following reasons:

Connecting to https://www.sparda-bw.de/ does not work with this version (when using old OWB or MUIOWB 1.9 it works flawlessly). This version tries to connect for quite a while and afterwards it shows the error: "Could not open https://www.sparda-bw.de/. Error 35: SSL connect error". This also happens when I activate the "Ignore SSL errors" option.
I already tried different .crt-Files (even the one from MUIOWB 1.9) but this also did not help.

The 2nd problem which is even more annoying is the fact that this version of MUIOWB does not open search results from Google result lists! Whenever I start a google search and click on one of the result entries the appropriate page does not show up but only a blank page! Again this of course worked well with old OWB and MUIOWB 1.9 (even with AWeb and IBrowse).

That worked fine for me afterwards error messages have disappeared.

Hello everybody,

first of all many many thanks for further developing this great peace of software! I relly like to use it!

Unfortunately upgrading my previous Codebench version (latest one available previously before) did not work at all. After finishing the upgrade, soft reboot and trying to start Codebench it opens its own screen (as I set in previous version) but immediatelly claims an error telling me: "Failed to load the ClickTab close image." and only abort is presented. After pressing it two grim reapers occurs which can be ignored but Codebench does not start at all.

Posted below a snoopy excerpt which I captured until the "Failed..." message. I can't make head or tail of it!

I'm using a Peg2 with latest AOS4 beta (all updates provided by AmiUpdate have been installed).

Can somebody please tell me how to get Codebench0.42 up and running again?

Default stack setting. You're right I should try a higher one tomorrow. But when ignoring the GR it still crashes badly!
