As I mentioned before, my copy of Foundation (Director's Cut) has erased itself from the CD!!! I liked the game, shame I can't play it anymore.
Exodus doesn't work either. I just get Grim Reapers, even with the supposedly lifesaving patch... :(
Anyone knows if it's possible to play Freespace through AmigaInput? The GUI mentions an onboard joystick.

@MichaelMerkel
Well, I don't know. Tried running it today and failed miserably. Previously, I got it working with some "heatwave" gfx effects. I removed powerpc.library from my system, that may have something to do with it.
On the plus side, I managed to run "Freespace". Wow, I liked the game, but now it's VERY fast. I get some Grim Reapers midgame, but ignoring them allows me to keep playing normally. Earth2140 (and the Mission Pack, that never worked before!) now are running fine too.
Getting old games to run on OS4 final has been a curious experience. Sometimes they work, next day they don't. Weird.

@agafaster
It also needs huge amounts of memory. I got working on UAE long ago, but it was slooooow and not very stable. It was on another incarnation of UAE, so it's probably (much) better now.

Yes, Quake2 plays very well here, too.?I was saying I used to play it with a joypad, which I can't anymore...

Can't be fun??? ;) I used to play Quake 2 with my old A1200 joypad and it worked great!
I'll make further tests, see if I can get it running.

@joerg
I assume you're saying "WipeOut2097" doesn't work on OS4Final, since previously I was able to play it ok. As for "Freespace", I'm using the version on Hyperion's site.
I installed on a clean partition, but...did indeed copy the powerpc.library (and now Warp3DPPC). My system is relatively stable, but I still get some unexplained freezes, particularly on IBrowse (but not just IB). I'll remove said libraries and see if it improves.
Hopefully, I won't lose that much, but an updated library would be useful. I read it won't happen, but hope that isn't final.

You mentioned AmigaInput: can you play Quake(1,2 or 3) with, say, a USB joypad?

Freespace:I'm betting there's something wrong with install.I'll do it again, ASAP.
As for "Foundation(Director's Cut, in my case)", the truth is sad. The CD I bought long ago has become blank(!!!).No access is allowed, so,basically, I no longer have that game. :(((((
It was a cool one, though...

FREESPACE -crashes.I'll see what can be done, since it is supposed to work.
WIPEOUT2097 -after the prefs screen, it crashes.Same as Freespace, I think something can be done.

@Lio
I only played Dynamite once or twice, but I'm a fan of Bomberman games.
PAYBACK -works under certain conditions, but doesn't feel much stable. No sound, some menu options freeze the whole machine, but it's possible to play.
WARPSNES -used to crash, but I guess it was because it expected to find the amigainput libs. Copied those and it runs fine and with USB joystick support apparently unscathed!
TZER0 -does not work...
NAPALM -got much further than I'd ever did (the actual game pointer showed up), but then it's black screen all the way.

Good news first:
MYST -works very well. I always had some problems,mainly gfx glithces, but now it runs as it should. I still don't know what I'm supposed to do, but that's not exactly OS4's fault... ;)
NIGHTLONG -installation script on the 1.1 CDs seems faulty.Installing from the original CDs works.Copy the PPC files to that directory and the game runs, but...the gfx have the heatwave effect. I had this before and the solution was quite simple, but I can't recall. I'm pretty sure it will work, though
I'll try WipeOut2097, Napalm (the usual suspect...) and tZer0 next...

@ToAks
On WarpSNES (with joystick, of course, but that doesn't seem to be working on Final...):
"Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts"-finished it a few weeks ago, but used more than 1000 lives, surely. ;)
On a plain A1/OS4 combo:
"Battle for Wesnoth"(by far) -this is simply awesome.I'm re-playing campaigns I finished long ago, with different approaches.The playing experience is limitless, it doesn't grow old. ;)

Even cooler is the fact that "Battle for Wesnoth" works much faster on OS4 Final!!!!
Loading, saving and quitting now only takes a couple of seconds! And the overall game is faster, particularly computer AI.
;))))))

Even stranger is that it just shows a black screen.
And if I do a total reboot (the one that brings you back to UBoot instead of AOS4), all's fine! The 2 boot procedures behave as they should.

Yes, the HD is always visible. It just doesn't seem able to boot when switching on the machine. After that and after using the CD to get to the UBoot screen, it works as usual...

It's on the master.
Regardless of that, shouldn't the U-Boot screen (at least) appear? I get just a black screen!
I thought I had it solved, but no. I managed to get booting, but it's as if the drive "loses" the slb file.

My previous HD started showing signs of breaking down and I thought no further: I went for a new one. All seemed to went fine, until...
The new HD refused to boot OS4!!!! Well, sort of. It does boot up if I have an IDE cable plugged in the OLD drive. As soon as I remove said cable, U-Boot complains it can't find the SLB on any drive. I put it on the new drive, obviously (same slb I had on the old one). I have the "master" jumper set on the new one and have it set to "bootable". I've tried changing cables between all devices, but nothing positive happens. Both drives are same model and capacity. I want to remove my old HD to have my CD-writer back, but I can't do it... It seems that the old drive is still calling the shots, even without the power cable attached.
Can anyone help me out? I was never very fond of HD installations, but always managed to work it out in the end. Not the case now. I'm sarting to despair.
OS4(update4), with onboard IDE.
