@ChrisH

" no USB option is display in AmigaInput prefs, then it is not supported"

Not quite true. Amigainput has been buggy since 4.1. It worked fine in 4.0 and I backdated to use that one prior to the recent 4.1 update, I have backdated since the update and I get the same issues.

Try removing the device, re plug and do a soft boot and see if it appears under prefs/amigainput/usb. This generally works for me. The xbox controller will not work but generic pads should be fine.

And just where do you get this bullshit from? This is what splits this community. There is NO port as yet, someone is working in MOS world on it, unless you have access to some other priveliged information.

@Elwood

I know you have been the one behind this initiative and thanks for the honest feedback. Last night I installed the package on my PC and barring the databes program I cannot see much of a difference with the full package. This would be more than nice on AOS4.

I hope the developer sees us as kids!

@eliyahu
Welcome aboard to a new Amiga user, that is really quite special in this day and age. I guess looking back at this and the other thread it is not as bad as it first seemed, language differences and the cold harsheness of communicating via typing propbably have had a unwanted impact on how some things were being said and received.

It's nice to have a new member offer a fresh perspective.

Re: html5 and youtube on OWB OS4?

@ChrisH
Totally agree! Joerg has done an amazing job as has Fab on the MOS version However people should remember the 2 OS' are quite different beasts now, I am sure given time OWB will start to gain some of the features available in MOS but Joerg could probably use some help to achieve this.

I for one use OWB all the time with no big difficulties, I use Netsurf when I want to download and keep track, Netsurf by the way is a nifty product as well and I hope that keeps getting updated as well given it is cross platform (ie other minor platforms get something as well).

People should also remember Joerg contributes a lot more than just OWB to the OS4 community I guess he prioritises as he sees fit and on what he is willing to work on for his own satisfaction, he ain't in it for the money.

Sometimes I get real embarrassed by some of the expectations of our little community.

Perhaps some posters can ask how can we help or contribute.

Any Way to Slow FSPE Down!
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

For the past couple of years I have played FPSE using CDs mostly not bad but a touch slow and mixed sound. Over the last few days I worked out how to play using cue and bin files and man what a difference in speed.

I have been playing Space Invaders via cue and bin and the game runs way way fast on my SAM Flex 800. I popped round a mates place and played the same game on his PS1 and it was at a sane speed.

As much as I would like to embarass him in game play in practicing at a faster speed is the any way I can actually slow FPSE down a touch.

This is really a pleasant change from asking for more speed in emulators.

Good luck to both teams. We all know Australia should have won! -:) If not for the Referees, bad luck, old age and being totally out classed.

Frustrating Booting Problems - Solved

ZeroG (+Rogue) and all.
Thanks your process as outlined in your post worked a treat. Works great.

Recently I have been experiencing some strange booting problems. First off I use a KVM but have never had these issues before using it.

1. Often my SAM Flex will boot, show the Amiga startup picture and immediately jump into a shell with Workbench:> Soft resets result in this 9 out of 1`0 times.

2. Other times my workbench will appear but no Dock or any of the startup programs as selected in prefs. the drive icons will not open either.

To try and fix this I disabled my startup items one by one, then all of them. I have also checked the Startup-Sequence and user-startup but there is nothing unusual to be found.

I have been using my KVM for sometime now but these problems have just appeared. Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

Very nice read. Thanks. If nothing the immediate future is interesting and a little compelling. Lets hope things develop well, all signs are we are the healthiest we have been in a decade or so. Good luck to all participating partners and developers. I for one will support where I can.
