Re: MUIdev.de

Well as per usual there is something wrong with AmigaOS. I already have a time server specified in Time prefs, clearly its trying to grab the time before the tcp/ip stack is ready and doesn't just auto-retry moments later. Yfacts would be unnecessary if stuff just worked as advertised.

@all hohoho, butt of some jokes tonight it would seem, how very drool.

Being able to search through AISS icons visually becomes a reality, this is gonna help enormously.

Redesigned the AISS tab.... big thanks to Martin 'Mason' Merz for the CSV file that enabled me to rapidly add Icons Descriptions... as you can see it works!

I've seen the 'extremely small text' exhibited in MUI before, but its a little random, if your able to consistent reproduce this I would suggest registering and reporting it on muidev.de where it will get the attention it deserves - and not here.

Now possible to watch big buck bunny at 480p and keep in near sync with audio, I say near because it's still a little out. 720p still Slow, but not Very Slow. YouTube playback getting better but still falling short. All in all a marked improvement, but with some way to go.

Am I expecting too much from my Radeon card? Honest answer is I really don't know.

Is this even possible?

Just a quick bump, looking for more interested parties, have a couple of Beta Testers on-board so far, the more the merrier. Feel free to get in touch with me however you choose.

I can confirm change the QT Prefs setting to Native Painting stops the lock-up on FE. Makes you wonder why it is Enabled in the first place for all users...

To be frank and short, I don't care about all that bollocks I just went by the description in AmiStore which says it includes new versions of DVPlayer and Mplayer

I believe the Radiance package via AmiStore is what you need. However, it's still TBA.

Each to their own, I can manage purely in Codebench designing the interface as you see.
However, having something else to assist developers in doing that and much more besides can only be a good thing - especially as an application's interface can grow potentially grow considerably.

Re: Need Beta Testers

The project is less than a month old, but here is what I have been working on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRvNCNaLvLs

As you can see there is still a way lot more to do, but hopefully the framework you can see in the video should be a good indication of what I want to make possible.

Initially its going to output the project as Hollywood+MUI Royale, but from that initial point it should (hopefully) be more easily able to generate C+MUI Layout code. Although if I am honest I will need some help here from someone with the skills and understanding of both C and MUI to assist here. Of course it could potentially output as Amiga E given suitable template, functions, defintions and layout are implemented with assistance.

With MUI 4 seemingly being rolled out on all AmigaOS variations now would seem a good time to have such a developer tool like this make itself available.

Re: Need Beta Testers

;-p

In all seriousness, the last time this old program I spoke of was updated was way back in 2007 and it never went anyway. During 2010 and 2011 I donated a few hundred pounds to get this kind of tool out in the wild, but the project seems to have died. So, its now one of those DIY situations. I will need to work with someone another next year to realise its full potential so need someone who has strong knowlwdge of building Amiga applications. Feel free to PM your tel number on Facebook Andy I can ring you later- as you have developed Sketchbook (a modern app by AmigaOS standard) you would be perfectly placed to assist if you wish.

A couple days off work spent Coding.. bliss.

Thanks for the messages coming in so far, I won't be replying anytime soon I just want to hear from you guys. Most likely will be in touch post-christmas with a little more info about the pre-requisites required. If you've developed for AmigaOS before then thats a good start.
Just to make it clear, this is not a game, its a missing tool within the development cycle.

Sam460 cannot play video smoothly at 720p. AmigaOS 4.1 FE, Radeon HD 2.4 and the latest video players (yet to be released) are required.

I have one out of three :/
