@kas1e Quote: by this way we catch any changes in clipboard, calling it every half of second is nothing even for a1200 with 68020, and it will take only few KB of the memory for process. And for clipboard's changes just textclip.library can be used, so code is tiny. But you'll still need to read and interpret data from the clipboard to determine what has changed. (If you don't, Rave copying audio data to the clipboard will unghost your Paste button, which is something you don't want.) Doing this every half-second will certainly add overhead.

@kas1e Quote: Yeah, checking on running are easy, but setting up some event to be catched (so any other program change the clipboard, and our button should react): for now need to think how to implement better. You can set up a clipboard change hook, but this is what the RKRM documentation says about it: - CBD_CHANGEHOOK should only be used by a special application, such as a clipboard viewing program. Most applications can check the contents of the clipboard when, and if, the user requests a paste. - Do not add system overhead by blindly reading and parsing the clipboard every time a user copies data to it. If all applications did this, the system could become intolerably slow whenever an application wrote to the clipboard. Only read and parse when it is necessary. So while I agree with you and Nils it would be nice to have the Paste button ghosted when the clipboard is empty, I don't think AmigaOS provides good tools for all applications to do this. In Rave, multiple clipboard units can be used for copy/pasting. In SoundFX, any of the 256 units can be used for that. Now imagine that an application installs a change hook on all units it supports, only to be able to ghost a button!

@Maijestro Indeed, the flickering in the top-left corner is now fixed. There are still a couple of bugs left, but I keep reporting them to the program maintainer. The two new synth modules added since the original 1.05 release are great!

@DigitalDesigns Quote: It's nice that there's new PPC hardware, but I'm sure it'll be the same as always with these, everyone will be surprised that it was supposed to be low-cost hardware, but the price tag is well over 1000€ for just the motherboard Well, for what I understand, the design and the BOM of the Mirari does allow for a reasonable sales price. This is something that both OS4 and MorphOS users want. I don't expect the MorphOS team to put a hefty extra on the board price because they'd only be shooting themselves in the foot. The situation is a little different for OS4: there are more players and interested parties involved, so if everyone decides to take a cut, yes, the price can easily climb to 1000€. But then users will flee to MorphOS because the deadly combination of cheap hardware, clear ownership structure, regular updates and quality sóftware (browser, anyone?) will finally swing the balance towards MorphOS.

@BillE Quote: The point was really what is the point of having an Amiga blog on a system that you cannot actually read it on your Amiga? Well, because it's not just an Amiga blog. Ko-fi is a system for creators that lets you - apart from presenting content - build a network of supporters. It makes it easy to inform them about what you have done/written, and allows them to support your efforts financially, even on a regular basis via custom-defined support tiers. As payments are involved, the technology needs to be up-to-date and secure. I couldn't possibly achieve all that with my blogsite tweaked and scaled down for Amiga compatibility. That an Amiga website is viewable on an Amiga is an ideal state, and you bet I would prefer it, if only the system weren't so behind with technology. Amiga developers commonly use GitHub, which can't be viewed properly in any of the Amiga browsers. Many Amigans.net users are now on Discord, which doesn't have an Amiga client either. We have accepted the fact that some things simply can't be done (easily) on an Amiga. No biggie. It's not a fetish. Quote: its just pity I will no longer ba able to read it. Most people have smartphones or a computer at work, so there's always a way to view the blog even on Ko-fi. If they see it as a problem, then my writing is not good enough

@all Following an unsuccessful WordPress update which rendered my blogsite unusable, I've finally decided to move the Rear Window blog to Ko-fi. I've been contemplating this for some time because having a blogsite and a Ko-fi page, I was basically doing the same thing in two places. The address www.rearwindow.cz is still functional but it now redirects to the Ko-fi page. I apologize to those who were used to viewing the blog in their Amiga browser, which now will likely be a painful experience with Ko-fi. However, apart from duplicating my work, I could no longer deal with keeping things "Amiga-compatible" in WordPress. It's just too much hassle. Ko-fi is smartphone-friendly, so I'm sure there's still a way to view my blog posts if you're interested. This being said, I'd like to add that I have just published a new blog article, which describes my story and experience with Rabbit Hole Computing's PCI SATA card in my AmigaOne X5000. I hope you'll enjoy the reading.

@broadblues Quote: Some gadget's need to be refreshed before they update imagery after GA_Disabled. I think that a simple gadget such as String should not need a RefreshSetGadgetAttrs() on setting a trivial attribute like GA_Disabled. If it does it would make sense to revisit the source code and make the behaviour consistent with Button, CheckBox and other primitives.

Thanks for the update!
I wonder if it would be possible to distribute the program with source code so that interested people could learn from it. Warp3D Nova is an important development but it isn't getting enough programmer attention/use to fully realize its potential. Hans' tutorial book is a great primer but real-life source code is scarce, so it would be very welcome.

I don't own an A1222 and I don't play games very much, but I've been Huno's bronze-level supporter for over a year now. It would make sense that gamers wanting to give meaningful support to Huno's efforts subscribe at one of the available tiers.
