One thing I find odd is that in the screenshots people have posted here of Emotion running fine, it says "GPU Hardware Encoding VAAPI". When I run Emotion, it says "YUV Video Encoding". Its the same version of Emotion 1.9.
What is the required tooltypes for Emotion?

@Spectre660 Thanks, re-saved my sound settings, and that seems to have eliminated the IPrefs crash. @walkero @Amigakit Yes, I have the firmware drawer. My Power Prefs are set to Performance. I have no idea what that is doing - would nice to have some documentation. Result when playing videos is the same. Emotion is as SinanSam460 reported. SinanSam460's results seem to suggest that the problem is compatibility with the X5000. Hopefully we can hear more from Hans. My card is Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX560 2GB GDDR5 11267-19-20G https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/pulse-rx-560-2g-g5-14-cu-1

@Spectre660 My X5000 now boots and is more stable, although I'm getting a crash on IPrefs - sound.datatype, usually when I open an ASL requestor and click Volumes. I think it's trying to play an error sound.

However, Emotion goes to a black screen when I try and play a video. I have managed to get MPlayer to play a video, but the result is no better than my 7850. Overall, the performance feels sluggish. When I open an ASL, it is taking noticably longer to populate the list of files.

Yep, that's what I'm getting. I still have the old Versions in kicklayout renamed to #?.old. I'll delete them completely.

Thanks for the reply.
I have done this, and now my X5000 is extremely unstable. It usually fails to boot after the splash screen. I have to make multiple reboots to finally get WB to load.
Also, performance is much worse. It basically can't play videos.

I've switched out my Radeon 7850 HD with an Sapphire Radeon RX560 I bought last week. Kicklayout has been modified to include the RadeonRX driver, and the system boots. However, it's not working properly. When I try and play a video with Emotion, it crashes.

I ran through the individual elements that were updated, then I ran the Enhancer installer again. Still got the error, clicked through it to run the install...
My userstartup was failing on reboot. It was looking for RapaGui which it couldn't find. Hmm, weird, I don't usually get that error. So I booted into my BU partition, commented it out, and rebooted...
and now I have a non-booting partiton. Gets to the splash screen and no further.

Limited visibility of Images?

I seem to have very limited visibility of images. I can see the random photos. When I click on the "Images" link, then click on the Categories drop-down, I can see the list of categories with the number of images in each, but when I select a category it says there are 0 photos.

Have tried a reboot, same result.
Will try and manually copy the files across.
Sigh.
