@Antique

Bought 2 after I got my PS3. Never used to buy full price DVDs so the blu-ray prices does not suit me. If/when they get cheaper I will buy more frequently.

My Blu ray movies.

I hope he will, Tunenet is my most used OS4 application has it running whenever I'm at home.

The solution mentioned above does the trick for now though.

@Radov

A flex board with an 1.2ghz cpu would be the perfect upgrade for current A1 owners.

If it could be produced at a decent price (whatever that is;) it would be very popular.
They would certainly get an extra order from me.

I will stick to my A1XE-G4 @933mhz for now though, as the SAM seems to be a downgrade..

Finally recieved and installed AmigaOS4.1 today... It's great.

Anyone know what the differences between a radeon 9200Se and the recommended gfx card (9250) are? Seems to run great on my Radeon9200 so far.

Anyone got some links to tips on how to speedup boot time?

@Atheist

Looking at the price it seems a bit high but it is a hobby OS and hobbies can be much more pricey than Amiga.
Considering how many people is involved and how much time is spent it seems like a fair price.

Just ordered it btw.

[EDIT] And I encourage everyone else to show their support. Get OS4.1 as soon as you can and help ensure further development.

Money from the Sputnik bounty sits safe with me and if Marcin don't deliver people will get a refund (minus paypal fees). To get sputnik ported was the best shot at the time and i didn't see anyone object to it back when the bounty was started.
Comparing it to AI's scams I find rather insulting.

Good luck with netsurf looking forward to see a stable version with javascript, etc. Looks promising.

I'm going to Prague with my GF this Thursday and home next Tuesday so I'm afraid the meeting date is to late for me...damn

Would have loved to see AmigaOS 4.1 in action. I hope someone will be able to help you out. Have you tried contacting Acube directly?

My A1 still works, so I guess I will stay with the Amiga for some more time. Dunno what to do when/if it breaks and no replacement has become available though.

Probably grow a bigger interest for AROS I think

Also interested in hearing more about Allegro, really looking forward to see that released (or to be more precise in what software it brings to my A1).

Keep the spirit alive, enjoy your Amiga, and remember it's just a hobby.

"It started out as a full-time project, but eventually he needed to do other work in order to eat. "

I know it's just my English, sometimes it all goes bit to fast

Anyway, I think it's interesting that Amiga adds someone with OS4 experience to their team (whatever their team is).

@Outcast
"..The foundations are dodgy."

But Amiga Inc releasing the completed AVD could be the new foundation!?

I don't know whether this is good news but I can't see it being bad in anyway.

AVD _IS_ AFAIK a sparetime project it might still be or it might be that Amiga Inc wants to take it under their wings. If they do the latter and get it finished, it means they are actually showing some interest in OS4 (maybe because there is no OS5 ;)

Will be exiting to see what Jamie is up to, I think he's a clever guy who wouldn't go with A.inc unless they have showed him something concrete.

Re: "Soldiers of Fortune" for Amiga?

@Cool_amigaN

I don't think 10000 users is a market any software house will even consider. It might still work if Hyperion licenses the game for Linux/Amiga/MacPPC but even that combined market became smaller with Apples CPU change.

Perhaps if we ever reach 100000 users small software houses will consider doing ports themselves but I doubt it will happen before that, unless they have a secret passion for the Amiga

Until then I guess the few Amiga companies remaining will have to buy a license to do a port themselves.
