Re: A Sort-of Christmas Card

Not too shy to talk

It is now also available in PDF format here.

Admittedly, a rather large download, but the photographs are full scale, and the text has been converted to curves in order to avoid any possibility of font wonkiness.

EDIT: Link fixed. Oops!!!

Done, though I'm not currently using one, I do have one in the closet (the SCSI controller died a while back) and I'm considering AROS for one of the others (but that will have to wait until AROS is closer to done).

Those running "The Amigans" (TA) need to stay on guard against the pollution that occurred in other forums, wherein haters were allowed to come in and even take control. We all know what they did to those other forums. Let that not happen here.

Having a lot of members can be a good thing; it can help bring in advertising dollars, for one thing?but let us also remember the vile things that can happen when the door is left open to one and all. Let that not happen here.

The main reason Apple, Inc. is comfortable is that they have the iPod.

What does Amiga, Inc. have?

Whatever it is, they need to get it out there, and it needs to become ubiquitous, just like the iPod.

Timeline, Please?
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

As someone who has been away from the community for quite a while, one of the more confusing things to me upon coming here is seeing people talking about the "coming release of OS4.x". I thought that OS4.x was already out on the A1.

If someone "kinda sorta in the know" could give us a timeline?fairly detailed?say, from the initial release of the A1 until today, it would probably be helpful. I know it would be to me.

An Interesting Thing Happened on the Way to Logging In
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

I'm not really sure where to post this, so if Free for All is the wrong place, please move it to the right one.

Tonight I tried to log in and kept getting an incorrect log in message. I had a new password sent to my email, and when I used that password to log in (with my usual username) I was able to log in, but the system said that there was no user info for this user. Then I tried logging in with the username I actually signed up with, got the incorrect log in, looked away to think, looked back and I was logged in! (?) I have, of course changed my password (just so be safe). But, it seems that my username has been changed to my usual username. Where's that :dizzy: emoticon?

Boy that was a strange log in!

I seem to remember something about the CPU modules for the A1 being some of the same ones used in some of the PPC Macs. If this is the case, then you might have a bigger slice of the pie to work with than just A1 modules and A1 repair places.
