I was able to SSH to my Linux box by pressing return, it looks like you might really need a fresh system, you are poking arond it too much

Hi @rjd324
Same version of DefIcons as yours, I can not recreate this, and making a modification will work as expected.

Hey @rjd324 I changed fan on A4000 PSU with Noctua NF-R8 redux for exactly the same reason as yours, but did not change fan on NG system. It is pretty quiet, but you might want to get something with higher RPM's. If I am not mistaken, I think Kas1e did some fan replacement on his board and posted that on Youtube. Check the link: https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... id=128157&keywords=Noctua

I want to connect 44-Pin SSD IDE HDD to my A4000 and was wondering if anyone tried this and if did, which adapter 44-pin to 40-pin) did you use? Thanks!

I really enjoyed competition and playing Blastaway and as an added bonus we had a developer on board as well, how often something like that happen? Thanks to AmigaOldSkooler who organized all of this and congrats to all participants!

@328gts
Lol, I was lucky that I am on vaca, kids and wife are in Europe so had a lot of time to enjoy myself and play Blastaway if not working around the house or visiting another state. That 8th level (The Control Rooms) was brutal and will have to replay it again, just to see how to survive. I was so close to beat the game!

Thank you all, much appreciated! @328gts I never did any testing and got FastATA pretty much right away when I fixed this system, so I can't compare. The installation was pretty simple and it is working without any issues, and that is good. I would say that I am happy with FastATA, just because of no problems, if that makes any sense.

@trixie
That sounds good (resample plugin), when you have time! Regarding the PT, I started recently to learn and make short mods, and switching to Milky Tracker would be easy as I don't know much yet. Thanks for suggestion, will give it a shot.

I totally missed to do this, so here is the belated introduction. Born in Yugoslavia where I was introduced to the computers in early 80's, enjoyed all major European 8-bit computer systems, owned a C64 with 1541 drive, Amiga 500, Amiga 2000 and Amiga 1200 before moving to USA late(er) in life. This move and before that, professional need, was a distraction from my Amiga path so I start looking at Amiga emulation mid 2000's which was sort of satisfactory but it proved not enough. All classic systems I mentioned before were used for gaming and creative stuff, but I also enjoyed making AmigaDOS scripts and messing around with the system. I'll fast forward to the February 2018 when after long, long decision (it took me a couple of years), my X5000 system arrived. I was constantly gravitating between classic and NG and classic's were just getting more expensive and I did not want to spend that kind of money on 30 years old hardware. Curiosity towards new Amiga NG won and I never regreted getting one. Funny thing is, shortly after purchasing the X5000, I found a deal for A4000 which I could not miss so I got that one too. It was sort of working (battery damage) and after professional fixed that and re-capped the machine and PSU, I have two awesome systems sitting one next to the other on designated desk. I upgraded the A4000 with ZZ9000, ZZAX, FastATA and currently waiting on A3660 and SSD to arrive (will need new PSU for all this) any day now. This will complete my classic upgrade. For Amiga NG, I am planning to get better GFX and audio card and the system is used mostly for drawing (SketchBlock Pro with graphic tablet -- Thank you broadblues!), listening to music and playing games sometimes. Now, this was longer than I expected, but needed to say something, since 2018 when I started to lurk at first at this forum and latelly becoming an active participant.
Cheers!

@nbache Thanks for this, I did not know. Now what is left for some serious tracking is Protracker 2.3d and circle will be complete (hint, hint)!

@328gts Thank you! It was my first ever computer gathering! I was really ecstatic about the whole thing and it was even better than I expected! Now I wish there are more (Amiga only) gatherings like this. @AmigaOldSkooler Here is my updated high-score: @saimo I almost finished the game, lost 5 lives at the 8th level of The Control Rooms, the one which is totally open, resembles of the arena. Super tough!

@trixie
Finally I had a chance to look into the Rave and it is something I could use on a daily basis. The supported formats are impressive and existance of 8svx format opens a door to sample preparation for Protracker. I wish 8bitbubsy's Protracker 2.3d could be ported over as the one from the OS4depot is not usable, so all the music creation is doable on our system. There are some features I could not find (I've read the manual, I hope I did not missed this), which could make using Rave just a bit easier. I wish I can move position cursor with the arrow keys, left and right and hitting "home" or "end" key to move position cursor at the beginning or end of the sample at the Waveform Display. Holding shift and arrow key to the left or right should make a selection too, the same as it can be done with the mouse pointer. There is also one more item which is desired. When converting WAV sample to 8svx, there should be an option to downsample from 44000Khz to lower frequencies so it is usable in PT or classic Amiga trakers. Currently, configure button, when trying to save as, is not selectable and will save the 8svx at the same frequency (44000Khz). For this, I am using "sox" on Linux and shell script (I can share it with you if needed to see the parameters) which is doing this for me, but it would be great if could be done right here. Everything else works great and I tested the Fade In/Out and Mix Channels from stereo to mono, successfully. Thank you so much for making Rave trixie!
