Re: Timberwolf!!!!

Hello,

Just installed Timberworlf. Great job and thanks for the hard work.

On my SAM447ep:
- Take age to launch each time (more than 60 seconds)
- allways 100% CPU.
- Not able to give me a page (gmail never loaded completely because allways 100%).

- Timberwolf loaded with no page. I played with the menu and open options.
Sync per default. I click on Advanced and 60seconds+ to see advanced menu).

- Open the tools menu and scroll vertically over the tools menu available take pratically 100%.

Unfortunately, not usable on my SAM440ep 667mhz. I'm using a CRT monitor with 1024x768 16bit screenmode.

Next version will be surely better for low end amiga-ng

Hello,

when downloading something with MUI-OWB, the ASL requester is opened on the wb screen, and not on the MUI-OWB Public screen.

this with update4 of course, there is somthing to do to see asl requester on MUI-OWB window itself ?

Re: Video editing software bounty?

Hello to all,

I will try to answer some questions. Diego will surely do that better that me later.

- Cobra, Diego, Chip, Elwood and myself are involved on this work. Cobra help and advise for each new beta version and I'm betatesting myself the new library.

- The work is based on the Chip source but some code have been remade/reworked between. For example:

1. AC3 decoding not use separate library but included and now AC3 sound decoding is verry efficient than the chip one.
2. Parsing code have been remade. One example, No more sounds echoes with DVD movies.
3. lots of others things allready done...

Because the last ffmpeg sourcecode has changed a lot. Just compiling the original avcodec.library AOS4 sourcecode (old and incomplete) with last ffmpeg avcodec sourcecode part not working directly. There are work to do for diego !!

- The actual new beta library exist and work for VOB files and some AVI files actually (not all the kind of AVI codecs). Differents kind of movies and codecs are added one by one on the new avcodec.library and test are made.

- The actual new avcodec.library 53.1 size is more than 3mo (original (1.9mo) and has been compiled and tested with some differents comiling arguments for the best speed possible. Of course, this new library work with last registered version of Dvplayer everybody use actually.

- When a kind of played codec will not supported, this time a requester will inform you than a bad crash.

- For the first time, this library will have all the codecs available on ffmpeg integrated (previously limited to format DVplayer supports). Unfortunately, no video player on the amiga support the other kind of movies that mean will be hard to test.

Thanks for supporting this bounty. The goal is to help Diego to buy his own amiga-ng computer.

Open a separate thread on a forum if we would like to discuss more about avcodec.library.

Hello,

1. Logitech mouse M505 work fine with update3 or 4.

That mean there are no reason to see other range of logitech M series mouse not working with AOS4.

This mouse is a cordless one with an unify dongle. Maybe all unify Logitech hardware (keyboard for example), work fine also.

this mouse use a verry high resolution that mean you could cover all the screen with a verry small movement of the hand. strange first seconds but great after some time of use.

2. OCZ Rally2 16go stick work fine (FAT formatted).

Can you please try to use (default, english one) version of mui, without french locales, and trying to reproduce that "small fonts bug" ?

Based on my method, I have easily reproduced the small font problem without the french locale also.

Resized Image

Edit: this grab is with the french catalog but the same with the english buildin MUI catalog.

I, of course, type a wrong internet link (I add migans.net inside the URL adress place) to create a wrong link.

MUI-OWB search the wrong link and surely MUI-OWB use a message error longer than the small MUI-OWB window and MUI-OWB become with small fonts.

This small fonts problem exist since the beginning of MUI also on the classic.

For me, the result on the grab is the font used on mUI settings ->window->fonts->tiny and showed on the grab more smaller than the minumal size.

Question (again):

what are the font you use on MUI-OWB -> SETTINGS -> fonts

here It's:

time new roman, courrier new, arial, comic sans MS,.... but when I use the gadgets on the right of all the font line, I have only beatstream and dejavu ?

I think users continue to use old .font files on their MUI settings (It's my case) and kas1e should use only new TTF fonts.

FONTS on MUI-OWB:

someone could give me the fonts used on the MUI-OWB fonts setting page ?

Re: downloading images in mui owb

Hello,

Testing the small fonts with MUI programs is verry easy.

For example, MUI-OWB on his own screen (1024x768).

-load general MUI settings.
-click on screen.
-double click on the MUI-OWB line for editing the screen.
-on size, change 1024x768 by 320x240 (or little more).
-choose use or test.

MUI-OWB is now verry small (320x240) on the left side of the screenmode (1024x768).

Type an internet adress and/or just use the MUI window menu and the result is small fonts on the mui window. you try to quit MUI-OWB and small font on the requester, etc....

This is for all to see what a MUI program look like with too small fonts...

This is for me normal for MUI programs but his arrive sometime with too long line, when surfing with MUI-OWB. As fab said and IMHO, the line should be truncated for resolving the problem.

@samo79

This problem arrive for me only one time with MUI-OWB (in the beginning).

just before, a long line on a MUI bubble help or another place (I don't remember well, maybe on a MUI-OWB requester).

Just to said that on a smaller MUI-OWB resolution, the problem will came more quickly.

Re: downloading images in mui owb

Hello,

I have sucessfully saved 14 differents files attached on differents emails, with my gmail account.

MUI list scrollbars to never apparently help to have MUI-OWB more stable.

I will keep MUI list scrolbar to NEVER and will continue to survey this problem now.

I could invite eroom to do the same test on his side.

About the small font you talk:

I have allways seen this problem, even with Ibrowse with the french translation with the Ibrowse settings open.

If you decrease the resolution with Ibrowse opened and the settings window also opened, the size the font of the Ibrowse settings window will become more small.

This is for me a security to allways show all even if the resolution is too small.

Thats sound logical for fonts on Amiga MUI windows but not with MUI-OWB showing internet pages.

@kas1e

The problem eroom describe is the same reported on the MUI-OWB bugs site number 627 (DSI when saving a picure to local HD).

This problem came when I save something (attached files on emails) on the HD, from email I read with my 2 email adresses sites, of course with MUI-OWB.

@Deniil

I would like to thanks you again, this time personally, about your work on the MUI part of MUI-OWB (and because I have seen, when I have read the other thread, that you really need that and this is why I have opened this thread

Without your help, more than 83x MUI-OWB users cant use for the first time MUI-OWB on their AOS4 computer.

I'm verry sorry that this task have pushed yourself too high and you need a big break now. In another hand, IMHO 99% of the job is allready made. I hope you will found, maybe, the motivation to help the amiga community again, on MUI-OWB project. Maybe new thanks posts of this thread will give you a better feeling verry soon

Thanks again for the MUI-OWB team, MUI maintainer for AOS4 and Fab for this joined common force, great developments

Hello,

I know, when opened the bookmark at the left side, a DSI came.

I'm opening the bookmark window with the stars icon and no problems that cause a crash.

I have surfed 4.5 hours last monday, tuesday and wednesday and just one amiga freeze (all the time with multi-tabs and complicated site).

I have reported the DSI when downloading .wmv files but now this DSI never arrive. The thing I have done is arranged (size and position) and saved positions for all the MUI windows.

NOTE: I'm not using the swap partition (in fact forgotten to create one the first install of AOS4).

Thanks for the extraordinary work on MUI and MUI-OWB.

Thanks for all for the work on MUI-OWB and MUI update. All users are now verry proud to use a modern browser with great GUI on their AOS4 computer.
