@SoundSquare Just take a look at the french guide I have made for AmigaOS 4.1 installation on Pegasos II. You can download it HERE ! I think you have not chosen Unit 0 for the muscical unit but VIA ..., and this way I have noticed the AHI channels are closed by the first software which uses it. Prefer to choose 'Unit 0 ..' instead of 'VIA ...' for the musical unit. Hope it will help ;) Laurent aka Faranheit

@caver99 Please take a look at the installation guide I have done. You can download it HEREThere's some hints at the end of this giude For example, in order to force U-Boot to use harddisk or optical type of peripheral, you can set a specific variable : sete sii3114ide_conf 1002 '1' is used for harddisk, '2' for optical devices and '0' for nothing. Also, please not that harrdisk should be connected to the J20 connector of the motherboard and the optical drive shoubd be connected to the J23 connector. Hope it will help ;) Laurent aka Faranheit

@Chris:
I would be interested in using Napalm too here on my Sam ;)
The only thing I have managed to do is to have the 3 screens of the game at the beginning but there are trashed and after that, I have a black screen with nothing on it.
Can you tell the libraries you have used and its versions please ?
Thanks, Laurent aka Faranheit

@TheDaddy:
As Elwood says it, graphic card is only useful on Flex version, absolutely not on 440EP. Having more graphic memory is not a good point if its speed is 2 / 2,5x less speeder ! The only use of the PCI slot on 440EP version would be for a wireless card, but as there is strictely no driver for the current card which can be found on the market, this is why I think that for the moment, PCI slot on 440EP version is useless.

TheDaddy wants to make a tiny box, so, in this objective, we must forget PCI slot use I think :)
@TheDaddy : yes, it's true, but not for the Flex version of course, only for the 440EP version :)

@TheDaddy
Yes you can use one Radeon PCI card on Sam 440EP but as the PCI slot in only at 33Mhz, it will be much slower than the integrated chipset :)

@Mrodfr
PCI graphic card on Sam 440EP have no use because the pci slot is at 33Mhz however the graphic chipset is at 66Mhz.
If you want something small, forget tue use of PCI card.
Wifi can be replaced easily by CPL products which is much more secure (no discinection for example since it is some cable connection) !
I think PCI Slot use is only a good thing with futur Sam Flex board.
Thanks, Laurent aka Faranheit

@acefnq
I understand your feeling :)
Here at IMM, we always warn our customer about their orders as often as we can.
We know how frustrated it can be to not have any informations about orders.
But one thing is really sure : ACube is not vaporware at all, they just have many request for Sam's boards and they work very hard to provide very good products, so, don't worry about your orders, it will be delivered as soon as they can I think :)
@all here too : We can deliver products to England, Germany, or Sweden too ! And we sell Minimig's boards and Loriano's Boxes too ;)
Don't hesitate to contact us for any request ;)
Thanks, Laurent aka Faranheit

@all:
There is no plan to stop Sam 440EP productions for the moment :)
The Sam flex board are not supposed to replace the 440EP models at all.
For the PCI slot, these are 2 x 33Mhz 5V compatible one and one 66Mhz 5V compatible one, there is no integrated graphic chipset on these boards.
Take a good care that the boards are delivered without memory and without graphic card, you must purchase these separatly ;)
As soon as we have our prices, we'll put these products on our webshop ;)
Best wishes for 2009 :) Laurent aka Faranheit

@drvolk Here we have tested a Logitech Cordless Desktop Pro 2400 and it works just fine with the Sam 440EP boards. The mouse AND the keyboard are working very well in Amiga OS 4.1 and these models have a 'switch off' button in order to turn off the mouse and the keyboard when not using it. Hi all :=)
As SoundSquare has said it, this new U-Boot is not the ONLY thing needed for Dual Boot of Amiga OS 4.1 / Linux, a new SLB version is required which is in beta tests for now.
This new SLB will require the new U-Boot version released today ;)
Keep fingers crossed ;)
See you later, Laurent aka Faranheit

@TCD
I have changed the xorg.conf file by adding the line you have mentionned but the X server doesn't start.
Here is the xorg.conf : # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file) # # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using # values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page. # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.) # # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only* # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg # package. # # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated # again, run the following command: # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "it" Option "XkbOptions" "lv3:lwin_switch" EndSection
Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Configured Mouse" Driver "mouse" EndSection
Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Driver "radeon" Option "ConnectorTable" "64,2,1,2,60,1,1,1" Option "TVDACLoadDetect" "true" EndSection
Section "Monitor" Identifier "Configured Monitor" EndSection
Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Monitor "Configured Monitor" Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP,CRT" EndSection
Have you any other suggestion ?
I also have tried with DFP-0 or DFP-1 or DVI, nothing works ;(
Thanks ;) Laurent aka Faranheit

@M3X:
Ok, so, for the X server, in fact, it doesn't start when the Sam is connected in DVI directly, but it starts when it's connected to the VGA with the VGA / DVI adapter !
After testing many things with Elwood, we haven't found how it's possible to make the dual boot with the slb fron AOS4 or with the one from Debian ;(
If you have a suggestion, it would be very appreciated ;)
Many Thanks to Elwood too ;)

@M3X
Ok, I have reinstalled Debian and now wih the slb installed by Debian, I can boot linux from HDD.
But, I have 2 other pb : - X server doens't start, so I have no graphical interface, - I have only one entry at the menu list.
For the menu list, I have noticed that it calls the file menu.lst in partition /boot
I can add an entry without problems but I don't know what to add in order to boot Amiga OS 4 from here !
An idea for the X server and the menu entry ?
Thanks, Laurent aka Faranheit
