@Rogue,
That's too bad. Freeing up system memory would be superb.
Chris
PS: not sure why the CPU needs to read the mem in the card, just needs to display the info dumped in it, I'm just a novice anyway. I only look to move forward.

@LiveForIt,
If I'm thinking what Rogue is thinking, The graphics card driver can point to any address it want's to. This is the only thing that a program will not even have to be aware of and therefor rewritten, at least that I can think of. If this operation is done at full speed, it should because it a simple transfer, there should be no speed penalty.
Chris
PS: Perhaps we will get more clarification on this later. I'm a user, not a coder.

Adding additional Ram to upper mem at this point is not possible because there is no physical place for it, however if you can put just the graphics card there it would be very advantageous. More can come later.

@LiveForIt,
"Rogue, Another example is mapping a large graphics card area. Right now, you are limited to the size of the PCI address space; graphics card drivers will make sure the right stuff is copied in the right addresses."
Did I misread this?

Good Day,
I like a logical simple layout. My thoughts on this are, If we could Have a 4Gb chunk dedicated to graphics card and other. So lets say you have 2 Gb graphics card, you could then add 2 more Gb to use as Clipboard/Ram disk thus leaving all 4 Gb system memory alone.
If the OS knows what all the graphics processes are, this can be done. Handle the graphics first then add a manager later to use what's left for "other".
I wish but, not likely to happen.

@Site Manager,
Obviously we need a new forum category "Linux on Amiga". This will help keep things in place for all concerned.
Thanks, Chris

Nice, the Star Wars games would be a welcome addition to our platform. I spent a long time on Dark Forces and completed it way back in the day, fun stuff.

This game ran really well on My A2000 / 060 with PicIV. Would be nice to see it run on OS4.x.
I looked and could not find if NemacIV runs, did I miss something?

Looks like they got it very wrong at OS News. You can't buy an Amigaone at Amikit, only at Amigakit.

@GreenMeanie,
You should register your A1-XE, it IS a product you can register. I don't recall the early bird OS4 had a serial number

@interrogative,
Yes, I had insurance, but I think the prob is the PSU.
It's the original and I checked it today thanks to a web site and found voltages all over the place. High ones , low ones. Crap.
I'll send the board back and make sure the PSU didn't burn it up and go from there.
Thanks guys. Chris

@Raziel,
I used the original GFX card, a 9200, then checked with a 9250 I bought.
Ram tested by Kurt, OK.
PSU, Damn, did not check before power up.
