@Severin

In cranu:

* Drop drawer on Cranu (or its icon)
* Hit the "<" button to tell it you want the archive the files from one level higher

@Mrodfr
Hmm.. you could create a multi-rar profile for Cranu right now...

@Daniel

If you put Cranu in the Dock, you should be able to drag icons to the Cranu icon. I *think* thats the case, but i can't remember 100%.

It should definately work if you drag icons the Cranu icon in workbench.

Edit: Ahh, I just tried dragging files to the Cranu icon in AmiDock, and it launched a seperate instance of Cranu for each file! Strange.

Hyperion are well aware of OS4's shortcomings and are working on it.

There is now an official Pete's FTP bugtracker here:

http://stackswap.net/mantis/.

If you've sent me bug reports by email, please add them here anyway so they don't get lost.

Thanks to Cyborg for the hosting (my web host is still on PHP4, and mantis requires v5).

@ChrisH

Well, if you're using window.class, you can at least pass a newmenu structure directly, rather than having to open gadtools, obtain a visual info, and layout the menus first.

@delshay

There is support, but you have to compile the expansion pack for the target platform.

There was a CD with loads of expansions compiled for the Amiga, but they would now need to be recompiled.

@Snuffy

Quake 2's GL output seems a lot darker than the software renderer, but then it does on my PC as well.

There is a brightness slider in the settings, and I have it cranked right up. Otherwise GL looks a lot better to me than software (and runs faster).

@phx

If you're using 4.1 update 1 or 2, then USB joysticks should basically work.

If the USB joystick is detected in AmigaInput prefs, and you can calibrate it, it should work with SDL. For example, it works perfectly with Giddy 3 for me. You might want to try with that game to see if it is working with SDL at all on your system.

@nubechecorre

I haven't had a chance to look into your crashlog yet, but i am very surprised by just how unstable the game is for you. It was tested by a number of testers prior to release, and all serious crashbugs they found were fixed.

Could you try something for me? Please disable all programs in your wbstartup, reboot, quit amidock, THEN run Quake II and see if it is any more stable. I want to rule out commodities or dockies causing problems.

i tried the game in software render and it is faster than opengl, is it normal?

On Sam440? I have no idea. On my AmigaOne with Radeon 7500, MiniGL easily outperforms the software renderer.

The kernel should spit out a crashlog over the serial.. although now i mention it, I don't know i the public releases of OS4 do that...

Attach the null modem cable, and run a terminal package on the PC (I recommend Tera Term Pro). I *think* it should be set to 115200, 8n1. See if you get any output when Quake II crashes.

I doubt Snoopy would tell anything. Could you hook up a null modem cable from the SAM to a PC?

QuakeII used to work fine on the A1; now comes up with a 'vidplay: unknown command' error. On the Sam nothing happens and it eventually locks up the system totally.

This should work quite a lot better for you with the latest update
