Hi All,
So far using Emotion for me has been fine.
I cant say I notice frame skipping yet.
Just to ask, anyone got subtitles to work on emotion?
I tried changing yt.cfg file to this setting below to enable subtitles.
HTML="0" /* Generate HTML page and open browser? 0/1 */ Debug="1" /* Write debug output to T:YT/YT-Debug.log? 0/1 */ AutoPlay="0" /* Automatically stream videos in mplayer/ffplay? 0/1 */ SkipDASH="0" /* Skip processing of DASH links. 0/1 */ Captions="1" /* Display list of captions? Console mode only. 0/1 */ CapLang="en" /* Caption language for autoplay. Blank for none. See docs. */ CapTrans="en" /* Translate captions to this language. See docs. */ Browser="" /* Default browser: Odyssey/IBrowse/AWeb/NetSurf. */ ScanLimit="10" /* Maximum amount of video links to scan. */ UsePipe="0" /* Streams HTTPS to MPlayer via STDOUT/STDIN 0/1 */
I tried several changes, like just leaving captions 0, then caplang as en and captrans as nothing, tried different combinations but it would display a subtitle during the stream.
Any ideas and thank you?

@Maijestro
Thanks for the reply.
It was just to test to see if anyone else's within this community own A1222+ complete system from A-EON shutdown automatically with just a monitor connected after, say, 5 hours.
Sometimes I just leave it and when I want to go back to it, I see a black screen and the unit turned off? Its is strange?
Ah! I now see this timing tab under screen blanker.
Strange, I some how thought it was just to do with the screen blanker rather than the system.
Ok, I will turn off all the options and see what happens.
Thank you.

Hey all,
I have the A1222+ complete system from A-EON few months ago.
So far all is good, system working fine but I notice it can shutdown automatically.
I tend to notice it shutdown itself if I do not use it for an extended period of time.
I was wondering if anyone else has A1222+ can test this on thier system.
To test this theory, can you have just the monitor connected to the system and left at the main desktop screen.
Just leave it, say 5 hours or more if you can.
Hopefully I am not going mad here, the monitor will go black and the system will be turned off.
Thank you.

@chris
For OS4.1 issues, I need to know what version of bsdsocket.library is being used and - more importantly - what the changes are between that and the previous public one.
-- I am currently using bsdsocket.library version: 4.321 (6.6.2016)
I don't get much time to work on this these days so any extra investigation is useful. Does a recent build of Curl work? Built against openssl or AmiSSL?
-- I know I am currently using AmiSSL 5.17 but I never tried to use Curl with either OpenSSL vs AmiSSL, you will need explain further how I do I test this for you.
Thank you.

Thanks for all the replies folks.
@Jpv,
I tried typing AddAudioModes in the shell. Nothing happens except just moves onto another line.
@Hypex
What brand of the external USB speakers you are using on Amiga OS 4.1?
@All
I had a look at the quick start manual, the audio out jack is at the rear of the A1222+, I wonder if I was to get an audio out convertor to USB, would that do the trick?

Just got emotion player from amistore today and managed to configure aiostreams to play yt.rexx youtube video clips on emotion player successfully.
Yep, it certainly played all you tube clips in a more smoother playback experience than mplayer does.

@rjd324, Just a had a look at the brochure and it looks really nice and I like the fact there is variety of different colors to choose from. For me, dark mode is my preferred theme, this is really due to my ageing eyes as complete white gives me a bit of headache these days. I have sent an e-mail to register my interest.

@chris Just downloaded and installed Netsurf via this link: OS4: https://www.cy2.uk/netsurf_os4_20240912.lhaWhile the installer installed the application fine. Upon arriving at the Netsurf main links page. Clicking on Rool, BBC, Ars, CNN, still unable to fetch page. However if I type google.co.uk in the address bar. Google comes up fine but sometimes it locks up completely upon clicking any google search result page. You better off just typing the site's www address manually and directly going to the website itself than using Google. I notice I go to Amiga.org and clicking on forum link, I get unable to fetch page. I would say it tempermental, it can lock up system completely and a restart is required. I do have the latest snoopy installed on my A1222+, do you need any logs from it to help you in finding out the problem for you? But otherwise keep up the good work.

Looking at this emotion player, I see it a demo version on OS4 deport but in the amistore it is a paid version.
I take it you are using a paid version to get all the benefits or are using just the demo to watch the you tube clips?
Thank you.

@colinw,
Just installed Snoopy and its working now, many thanks.
@liveforit and @chris,
I just watched snoopy running in the background with all the stack traces flying by while I was opening up Netsurf 3.12 (dev).
I am not a programmer myself, but with some of the information appearing (rather fast), it was showing there was something not right with the default main netsurf links homepage.
I just thought to myself, what if I type the google web address manually and just search for what ever website I wanted to visit, bingo, it worked.
Just set google to default homepage, the latest netsurf build 3.12 (dev) is working but tempermental, it can lock up the entire system, a reboot is required to get A1222+ to respond.
While I understand it is a dev build, I tried BBC, Rool, RiscOS.org, Google, sometimes it can load pages fine but eventually it will lock up again.

Hi All,
On the subject of software enhancer updates.
I got the A1222+ complete system a few weeks back.
I am assuming that Amiga OS 4.1 is already up to date with it own updates from Hyperion and software enhancer is also up to date from A-EON out of the box?
Also it still the same after reinstalling the OS from its recovery USB key, I do not need to reinstall software enchancer 2.2?
I am currently on following versions below:
-- Amiga OS 4.1 -- Kickstart 54.64 -- Workbench:53.66 -- MUI: 21.227 -- Warp3D 53.27 / Nova:54.16 -- Mini GL 2.21 / Ogles2: 3.4 -- Radeon RX: 2.12 / HD 3.7
I take it they are most up to date I can be at the moment?
Also I notice in my updater, I see I do not have W3D Nova Bridge Library installed.
Is this an application that will help the Radeon RX card, so far from what I can find about it, I could be wrong here, it is just a software library or driver to allow you to play classic games in 3d from what I gather?
Thanks

@Chris, Like Maijestro, i downloaded and installed Netsurf 3.12 (dev) from this link: https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... id=145704#forumpost145704Note, i just did a reinstallation of Amiga OS 4 using A1222+ USB recovery key. Installed latest AmiSSL 5.16 fine. Netsurf installed fine, no longer getting the guigfx.library alert. It loads the Netsurf welcome links page. All the links, error fetching page. Previous versions, 3.10, 3.9, and 3.8, now getting this popup error: "unable to fetch document" ??? Yet Odyssey is working fine as I type this. I know it must be downhearting to hear continued problems and it must feel like you are about to pull all your hair out of this unsual problem but do keep trying. When Netsurf was working it was able to load sites fine, it was good at rendering pages well, for example, Amiga.org and ROOL as an example. I even tried latest Netsurf for the Raspberry Pi on RISC OS 5.30 it seem to work fine on that OS.but I understand they are completely different operating systems.

@Chris
I do not want to put a downer on the progress so far with this thread.
It seem for other people the browser seem to be ok.
But for unknown reason for me however.
When I try the latest Netsurf 3.12 (dev) build.
I am getting the pop up guigfx.library to display images in this mode.
And then it started to install / check the fonts.
And upon the start of the Netsurf home links main page.
All the links on that page, slashdot, rool, ars, etc.
Just keep saying Error Fetching Page.
If you need logs and dumps, I am happy to provide them to you if required.
You will need to show me how to gather those log / dumps for you.
Thank you.

Sound over USB speakers

Hi All,
I had a look around this forum to see any mention of sound over USB speakers, the closest I could find was audio via HDMI but nothing specific to my query.
I have a USB external speaker.
According to the USB inspector, within the Utilities drawer.
Under the functionality tab, it shows it is an audio USB 2.0 device.
I then looked at the sound icon within the prefs drawer but there no option to change the sound output to USB 2.0 audio as far I can see.
Question: Is it possible to use a external USB 2.0 speaker in Amiga OS 4.1?
Thank you.

I used the dopus copypath button to ensure the correct path is set correctly withing the contextual menu and yt.cfg file.
Mplayer is working now, although after a reboot, I did get a DSI alert earlier but all is good so far.
Many thanks for the additional clarification.

Hi All,
Just to follow up on this thread.
I am facing problems getting the contextual menu to play you tube clips via mplayer.
I get this requester pop up:
Please insert volume: rx Amiga OS4: in any drive. Process 463 "Backgound CLI"
I have edited the YT.cfg file to ensure volume and path is correct for Mplayer.
It not case sensitive I dont thnk and volume name has not changed since getting the A1222+, it is AmigaOS4, I think is the volume name?
This is a copy of the contextual menu:
c:rx AmigaOS4:Utilities/YT/YT.rexx %l %u -shh -x silent autoplay
This is a copy of the YT.cfg file:
V2.9 /* Please don't change the formatting */
HTML="0" /* Generate HTML page and open browser? 0/1 */ Debug="1" /* Write debug output to T:YT/YT-Debug.log? 0/1 */ AutoPlay="0" /* Automatically stream videos in mplayer/ffplay? 0/1 */ SkipDASH="0" /* Skip processing of DASH links. 0/1 */ Captions="1" /* Display list of captions? Console mode only. 0/1 */ CapLang="" /* Caption language for autoplay. Blank for none. See docs. */ CapTrans="" /* Translate captions to this language. See docs. */ Browser="" /* Default browser: Odyssey/IBrowse/AWeb/NetSurf. */ ScanLimit="10" /* Maximum amount of video links to scan. */ UsePipe="0" /* Streams HTTPS to MPlayer via STDOUT/STDIN 0/1 */
PClient="MEDIACONNECT" /* See docs for available player client options */ /* Examples: WEB, ANDROID, IOS and more */
PlayMode="1" /* See documentation for available playback modes 1/4 */ /* This option only applies to HLS links */
TagOrder="22 18 5 232 230 269 93 92" /* 720p/360p/240p */ /* 720p/360p/144p (IOS) */ /* Live 360p/240p */
PathMP="AmigaOS4:Myfiles/MPlayer/MPlayer" /* Full path to MPlayer executable */ PathFP="AmigaOS4:MyFiles/FFmpeg/" /* Full path to FFplay executable */ ArgsMP="-quiet -really-quiet -vo comp_yuv2 -autosync 35 %u -cache 2048 -framedrop" /* Optional parameters for mplayer */ ArgsFP="-loglevel quiet -framedrop -infbuf" /* Optional parameters for ffplay */
/* Add -skip_loop_filter all -skip_frame noref to ArgsFP on slow machines */
/* Emotion is unsupported but might work if adjusting PathMP and ArgsMP */
Any ideas and feedback would be welcome.
Thank you.

@Maijestro, @AmigansDefender, @All. Thanks for the replies. Yes, I can confirm installing Netsurf 3.6 now allow me to connect to other sites. Occaisionally, I get a requester pop up to verify the site SSL security is fine, and to either choose accept or decline. I do have latest AmiSSL installed, I think its 5.16 I have. So far, it appears to be working, just don't change the fonts, as it breaks the whole thing. Had to reinstall Netsurf 3.6 again to get it back to a working state.

Finally got that SMB handler working on my A1222+. Downloaded amd installed 2x apps. 1. SMB2-GUI_OS4 2. RapaGUI Both from OS4 depot. Use SMB-GUI_OS4 app to create an SMB handler file. My 1st SMB2 handler file did not work. Fiddle around with the SMB2 file until I got it working. It is located within the Storage, DosDrivers drawer. For anyone else having an issue getting thier NAS going. See my example below: Handler = L:smb2-handler Stacksize = 40000 Priority = 5 GlobVec = -1 Activate = 1 Startup = " smb://Synology.lan/MyShareFolder VOLUME=DskStation USER=Boabster PASSWORD=DummyPassword" In essence, the smb path is the name of your NAS, and MySharefolder is your actual shared folder on the NAS. Volume is the name of an icon that AmigaOS4 will see it as once connected successfully, and user & password is the login into your NAS. It worked eventually after many trials and errors on my part. :D Hope it helps for newcomers.

Hi All,
Just downloaded Netsurf 3.11 from its website onto my A122+.
It successfully installed.
Clicked on the Netsurf icon.
It started to pull down fonts automatically.
Then it wants a guigfx.library file to view images in this mode.
My screen mode is 1600x900 ARGB32.
Then upon displaying the default page.
I click on any of the links provided, BBC, Rool, Ars, etc.
It comes back with "error fetching page"?
I am connected to the internet fine.
Odyssey works and iBrowsse work fine.
Latest AmiSSL is installed, its version 5.16.
Any reason why this happened and how can I fix it?
Thank you and I appreciate any feedback and assistance on this.
