@Rogue

What you tell about the plans for X1000-support right after the initial release of X1000 with AmigaOS 4.1.2, are very interesting.

Can i ask if there will be a 64-bit support as well as the Dual-core support? I understand it that the mystical CPU
is a true 64-bit POWER CPU. The AmigaOS will benefit a lot
from the full 64-bit support, as well as being 32-bit compatible with games and software..

@Rogue

No matter how much we want these games, you are of course right, Rogue. User applications and anything productivity are the most important things. To give
a platform a more serious focus than just games...

But of course, such games will breath new life in the Amiga platform, but first we need the missing tools that will bring these games to a new dimension on the Amiga platform..

@djrikki

Hello there. I have been a bit busy, and then it was the summer vacation. It's true i haven't been much around, still trying to be patient about the X1000. But i'm here now.

I hope you are doing fine, too.

@Rogue

I can understand how tiresome it might be when having more than enough to work on the OS4 core...

Perhaps it could be an idea to hand this game project over to others willing to work on an AmigaOS4 version of the game, that will make full use of the X1000?

It's a project that can't be missed...

You don't have to take on more work than you already have more than enough with, but bring the project to others you might know will do the work..

I have faith.

Could be worth mentioning this to the OS4 developers team, now that they have the X1000 to support, too!

Great, that would be cool. Let me know so that i might try something myself when i get myself the AmigaOne X1000.

I'm so happy that i give a lot of inspiration.

Keep it up!

@Mikey_C

Didn't notice he was gone. He must have said something that wasn't supposed to be said in a forum like this one...

Perhaps a line was crossed somehow? I don't know and it's not for me to speculate. I can only hope that everything will be okay for him now and that he will find what he is looking for, no matter where that should be..

@Daedalus

Forgot that Trevor mentioned the price in Pound, while i was thinking about the Euro, but i doubt it will get up to the size of 2000. Somewhere in the middle...

Only logical thinking from my point of view...

@vox

Reading of your long post, i completely understand your concern for the price. In that case, there is another alternative, and that would be SAM460..

Like i said in one of the previous posts, both SAM460 and X1000 will be excellent systems, and the most modern Amigas ever. If you can't afford the X1000, then go for SAM460...

It was also mentioned that one could change the CPU speed "on the fly", which is a unique feature of the mystical CPU, so yes.

@derfs

True, but several show reports stated that the cpu was increased to 2Ghz. Also remember that during the show,
it wasn't much time to do some changes to the A-EON site.

I'm sure Trevor will explain more about the CPU about not too long..

I never said what i said is true. I only mentioned what was said and written in the reports after the Vintage Computer Show. That's all..

@tommysammy

It's highly possible that the CPU will run at 2Ghz, yes..

@Rigo

I too don't believe the price will be as high as 2000 Euro,
but slightly above 1500 Euro. At least i believe so..

@Antique

My best bet is that A-EON didn't have time to change some of the information on their site, but i would suppose that 2Ghz is the final clock speed. Fingers crossed! Yes indeed, 2Ghz sounds better!

A1-X1000 with 2GHz Dual Core POWER?
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Several reports from the Vintage Computer Show reveal that the mystical Dual-core POWER CPU of the X1000 could be running as fast as 2Ghz, and Trevor indicated this would satisfy most demanding power users! If that is true, then Trevor is indeed correct. This WOULD satisfy most users!

Then again it's the price. I have to be prepared that the price will be somewhere above 1500 euro, up to 2000 euro, but perhaps there will be possible to pick some
of the configurations carefully, except of the speed of
CPU hopefully being locked to 2Ghz, and the memory
between 2-4GB, depending on how much money you have..

It's believed that the X1000 for end-users will be available sometime in autumn 2010. It could be the best guess, but could also mean closer to Christmas this year. It's easy to be frustrated by the wait, but it's important to have everything working as perfectly as possible..

My best suggestion would be to keep saving those money as much as you can. If you still can't afford the X1000, then start off with a SAM460ex. Both will be excellent systems!

Enjoy the summer, folks!
