Re: What's the best file system for AmigaOS 4.x?

@Mrodfr
Partition Limits:
FFS2: 2,2 TB if the blocksize is 512 bytes, more if you use a higher blocksize.
SFS/00: 128 GB
SFS/02: 1 TB * blocksize / 512
JXFS: only joerg knows, but it should play in same class as SFS/02

There are no repair/optimize or other tools for SFS/02 and JXFS.

Thanks for the data. I will forward it to the right person.

Suggestions or requests?

Try this (mp3 player is mounted as USB0: ):

- enter the following commands in a shell
MOUNTINFO USB0TO RAM:xyz ADDICON ACTIVATE
DISMOUNT USB0
:

- open the new mountlist ram:xyz in NotePad and add the line
Control NOAMIGAATTR

to the end of the file

- save the changes and doubleclick the mountlist.

You should now be able to copy files to your mp3 player.
Please note that my system (A1 with OS4.1 U2) gets instable after this.

Another way (without a instable System, but with some very annoying requesters and no automount for FAT disks) is to force the usb stack to mount FAT formated media with a filesystem that does not exist.

@tbreeden

Your mp3 player does not like the "specially formatted" directory entries within the FAT
filesystem to hide the Amiga specific entries.

Try to mount it with the NOAMIGAAATTR option enabled and please send me the data USBInspector shows for your mp3 player.

Incidentally, the ip address and the "written" address given in Zero's workaround lead to (slightly) different sites.

That's the way the workaround works. It redirects TN (and every other app that tries to access the "written" address) to the place where TN can find the data it looks for.

Are you sure that you use the current (0.9256 (13.03.2010)) version of TN? Older versions might use a different "written" address and need another redirect...

BTW:
The VGA port can use higher resulutions that the DVI port, it's a hardware limit of the M9 chip used for onboard graphics.

The Catweasel MK4, the MK3 will not work as it is a 5V PCI Card.

You can use it with Spirantho's driver.

Do you know if that I/O extender ever made it past the prototype stage.

As far as i know it's still in prototype stage or has been dropped by ACube, i can't find any information about it on their webside.

I'll check out the datasheet link and see if that helps.

Yes.

I have asked ACube directly (I have a 440ep), but did not tested it yet:

Sorry it's a typo, it's 22 (not 12)

Hello,

Yes, 6, 10 and 12 to a stereo jack.

For the MIC, you can connect the MIC2_L to pin 5 and MIC2_R to pin 9 or to
FMIC (pin19) and AGND to pin 21 or 22.

This is not the first time that TN has troubles to download the station listing, i just reposted the old workaround.

As a quick workaround:
Open SYS:Prefs/Internet, select "Hosts" on the left side, click on "New...". In the new window enter 207.200.98.25 as IP address and classic.shoutcast.com as Host name, then click "Use". Save and make a reset.

And don't forget to remove this when TN gets a update to fix that.
