You see, that's the problem with a lot of people. They don't understand a person's post, so they assume that that person doesn't know what's going on.

I did read the linked article. I also had other sources on the story. The man is a state legislator in Nebraska, who claims to be an atheist. So you have an atheist (who therefore does not think God even exists) who is nonetheless suing God. If he actually is an atheist, then he is wasting public funds suing someone who doesn't exist (in his opinion), and is highly insulting the majority of his own constituents (the majority of which would claim to be Christian, therefore believing that God does indeed exist). So, he is insulting the intelligence of his constituents while blatantly wasting their tax dollars and the government's time with this showboating insult of all people of faith.

He needs to be removed from office, and when his next election comes around, I somehow doubt that he will win after pulling a stunt like this.

Billsey, the guy is simply making a point.
This article http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20070919 ... on-offbeat-f62056d_1.html
makes no mention of atheism. The article is not about religion. It is effectively making a point in favor of tort reform.

can someone please try out this script:

.key FILE
.bra {

set echo on
echo "{file}"
SETENV ARGUMENT "{FILE}"
echo "$argument"
getenv argument
dir "{FILE}"
dir $argument
dir "$argument"
set echo off

the problem is, that the latter "DIR" command does not work.

I just did a clean install with OS4 final and it's 2007 July update on my A1XE.

In my tests, using the argument ram:, they all work.

Quote:

In some kind of weird way, here I get a lot of spaces added to the

So "work:" becomes "work: " hence DIR or whatever command
will not work.

There is no space added in my tests. I can only suggest you check your script to make sure you did not inadvertantly add a space or tab.

Quote:

But on the third last line the script will fail if
a dir like "ram Disk:Rename Me" is given.

Yes. The quotes are not passed on so that line sends what looks like an argument to the dir command resulting in an error.

example:
>dir ram disk:
DIR: wrong number of arguments

Quote:

AFAI can tell, SETENV adds the unwanted spaces.

Again, I do not find this.

What exactly are you looking for confirmation of?
The story exists in lots of places.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news ... d/asia/article2369001.ece
http://rawstory.com//news/2007/Pentag ... _blitz_plan_for_0901.html

So yes, the story is confirmed. It exists.

By the way. I would be surprised if these plans did not exist. The release of this info is probably just a scare tactic to get Iran to cooperate. But the plan does exist.

Given that "the U.S. Senate unanimously declared that Iran was committing acts of war against the United States: a 97-0 vote "
http://www.chris-floyd.com/index.php? ... iew&id=1225&Itemid=135%20
(For those that don't know. The US senate is made up of 100 representatives - two from each state)

I would be pissed if the US did not turn Iran into a private parking lot for us and our allies.

The taliban had declared war against the US years before 9/11 and look where that went. Iran is actively committing acts of war at his time. We can not let this sort of thing fester like we did with the taliban. Only worse things are in store if we do.

Hyperion are also to blame, you just do not do deals with a company like Amiga Inc. Now Hyperion will not release the "final" version due to all the money they have to pay people.

In this case i think more of Amiga Inc than Hyperion ( that is saying something).

Whose side are you on?

Keep this in perspective:

Without the agreement of Amigainc there would be no OS4. Amigainc has been trying to get the OS4 sources from Hyperion for years. There is a contract.

I personaly would like to see what Amiga inc has in mind for AOS but they have been stifled by Hyperion.

I am not saying that Amigainc is perfect but the IP belongs to Amigainc. Even Eyetech, not being an Amigainc fan, blasted Hyperion for their actions.

Lets not tar one company without the other. They both are responsible for this mess.

At this point I would like to see both companies go belly-up and the Friedens get the rights to AOS.

That does not seem likely so for the moment I am hoping they can come to an agreement that stays out of court and saves them both lots of money. That would be the best for all of us.

Side... unfortunately we need them both for now.

@Billsey

Thanks for that glimmer. With all the knee-jerk bashing going on it is nice to see a well thought out response to this mayhem.

There are far to many surprises to this whole thing to realy know at this point what has happened.

Beyond making money we certainly do not know what the motives are behind the prime movers - how they intend to make that money.

I do not uderstand the hatred for Amiga, inc at this time. There are simply to many unanswered questions popping up to truly blame anyone for anything at this point. Both Amiga, inc and Hyperion are what is holding up Amiga OS. Lets hope they can reach an agreement without a full blown expensive trial.

I don't agree that the forum is anti-AI. The Anti-AI crowd is just noisier than the pro AI side. I would say most of us are sitting on the sideline eating popcorn and watching the show. Because a show is what it is. It is kind of like poker. The only thing we know is what the two sides want to us to know.
