No, you will need to use the GUI the very first time, to choose eg. the icon format you want. But then you quit the program and it automatically saves this information in its config file. Thereafter it should just be a matter of, eg.:
ReportPlus 6 foo.info bar.info
(You can also use wildcards...) For the next version I will also make it accept an ICONTYPE argument directly from the CLI.

You can change the type via CLI or GUI using the Report+ utility.

There is a known issue that KBD_READMATRIX doesn't work on OS4, see http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/ami-code.txtAs a workaround, I changed my program so that it keeps track of all the key up/down states itself based on the received IDCMP messages. This is not the best way though, as it is possible to miss events in some situations (eg. when the program's window is inactive).

>There's way to many programs/tools named after what they do already.
Functional names (eg. Report+, Multi-game Character Editor, AmiArcadia) are more informative than meaningless pretentious names such as Cucumber or Onion, it also makes Aminet searches more convenient. For this program, I would suggest PlaylistCreator.

>Having UAE stats is a waste of time in my opinion, I personally don't care how many people are using an old defunct version of AmigaOS to play nothing but games.
Where did you get the idea that UAE is only for games? All my software is programmed inside UAE, I do occasionally play games with it but it is certainly not the main use. Amigas are not just for "nothing but games", I thought this stereotype had finally died out but apparently not.
>For me I want to know how many people have taken the plunge and bought a next-generation Amiga or AmigaOS like operating system. Classic doesn't interest me in the slightest although do I respect those that do find an interest in it - but it isn't going anywhere.... if you have 4.1 installed than you are making progress otherwise its for nostagia only.
Incorrect, it is not for nostalgia only. Please don't generalize and make assumptions like this. Not everyone is rich and can afford to buy new hardware, especially when that hardware is overpriced and underpowered.

Well, if the purpose is purely to measure how many Classic Amiga machines still physically exist, for the purposes of evaluating the market potential of various proposed expansion hardware, I suppose that's fair enough. (But finding out how many IBM PC compatibles are running AROS doesn't serve this goal at all, any more than finding out how many are running UAE would.)
>Exactly thats why Aros and MorphOS stats are separated from Amiga stats. Because of this fact.
OK. It would be interesting to have UAE stats too though.

It runs Amiga software, doesn't it?
If I run AROS on an IBM PC, it is an Amiga? But if I run the actual official AmigaOS on that same IBM PC, it is not an Amiga?!?
And a Crapintosh is certainly not any kind of Amiga, by definition it is a Mac not an Amiga, yet it is listed as a platform.
Emulation users should not be treated like 2nd-class citizens.
>the plarform for the majority of Amiga users is an Amiga not an alien platform emulating the Amiga platform.
If UAE was listed as an option we might have a chance to find out.
I have 4 Amigas but I don't use them at all. It would make no sense to list these and ignore the Amiga that I actually use every day, which is a UAE-based system.
If I may quote from the Amiga Forever site: "What happened? We don't know exactly. Everything seemed to be perfect until Tom had the knowledge that he was using a software Amiga, rather than a silicon one. There is no logical explanation to this reaction, because the Amiga itself didn't change between the test and the explanation, but in practice we have seen such a change in approach several times."

Since there's no support for UAE at that site, and it's the platform of choice for the majority of Amiga users, it's not going to be at all representative and will only cause pessimism. Which makes me wonder why they bothered in the first place.

This bug was fixed in V6.67. What version are you using?
@trixie:
>you definitely miss a Remove() here.
It's not necessary since the entire list is getting freed and there is no possibility of failure during the operation. It's the same way it is done in the RKM examples.
@All:
There is a known bug in V6.67 when quitting via the Esc key, due to it doing so from a hook function. This has been fixed for V6.68 which will be released soon.

Internal version number of OS4.1.1?

Hello, I want to take conditional action in my program based on whether OS4.1.1 (ie. "AmigaOS 4 Update 1") (or later) is present or not. So, I need to know what the values of the lib_Version and lib_Revision nodes of version.library would be on OS4.1.1. This information doesn't seem to be in the SDK or anywhere else.

That's interesting. I'm getting somewhat different results to you. I just tested with the OS3.9 Version command (V44.4 from 1999) under OS3.9+BB4, on the complete file, and it parses the version string fine. Also, the BB4 Workbench Info command (ie. RAWBInfo V1.36 from 2011) is parsing it fine too. So as you surmise it is probably an OS4 library bug.

AmiArcadia 15.7 for OS3 has a version string that is completely compliant with all the rules (even these new and frankly silly rules) but still OS4 can't recognize the version. Why?

That's because there is a separate manual for AmigaDOS.

My Report+ utility ( http://aminet.net/util/misc/ReportPlus.lha) can examine both IFFs and RIFFs (and I can confirm that they are extremely similar, even as far as the chunk alignment rules. I've heard it stands for "Rip-off of IFF" ). Knowledge about specific WebP chunks will be added to the next release.

Bad highlighting of depressed image+label buttons

Hello,
I have some buttons in my program which have as their label an image and two texts. These work fine under OS3.9; however on OS4.1.1 the blue highlight you expect when pressing it is restricted to just the label area rather than the whole button (this can be seen in eg. palette editor of AmiArcadia V14.51 for OS4). Buttons which are text-only highlight normally. Is this a known bug in OS4?
Each button is defined similarly to this:
LAYOUT_AddChild, gadgets[GID_BU62] = ButtonObject, GA_ID, GID_BU62, GA_RelVerify, TRUE, GA_Image, LabelObject, LABEL_Image, miscglyphimage[0], LABEL_DrawInfo, DrawInfoPtr, LABEL_Text, " ", LABEL_Text, LLL, MSG_OK, "OK"), LabelEnd, ButtonEnd,
and loadmiscglyphs() is like this:
EXPORT void loadmiscglyphs(void) { TRANSIENT int i; TRANSIENT ULONG buttonheight, miscglyphheight; // used to be hardcoded to 9 PERSIST FLAG first = TRUE; PERSIST const STRPTR miscglyphimagename[MISCGLYPHIMAGES] = { "PROGDIR:images/ok", "PROGDIR:images/cancel" };
if (first) { first = FALSE;
DISCARD lockscreen(TRUE);
if (!(miscglyphimage[0] = BitMapObject, BITMAP_SourceFile, miscglyphimagename[0], BITMAP_Screen, ScreenPtr, End)) { unlockscreen(); strcpy(errstring, GetCatalogStr(CatalogPtr, MSG_ERROR_CANTLOAD, "Can't load")); strcat(errstring, " "); strcat(errstring, miscglyphimagename[0]); strcat(errstring, "!"); rq(errstring); } DISCARD GetAttr(BITMAP_Height, miscglyphimage[0], (ULONG *) &miscglyphheight); if (DrawInfoPtr->dri_Font->tf_YSize > miscglyphheight) { buttonheight = DrawInfoPtr->dri_Font->tf_YSize; } else { buttonheight = miscglyphheight; } // buttonheight is whichever is taller: font or bitmap DisposeObject(miscglyphimage[0]); miscglyphimage[0] = NULL;
for (i = 0; i < MISCGLYPHIMAGES; i++) { if (!(miscglyphimage[i] = BitMapObject, BITMAP_SourceFile, miscglyphimagename[i], BITMAP_Screen, ScreenPtr, BITMAP_Masking, TRUE, BITMAP_Transparent, TRUE, IA_Height, buttonheight, End)) { unlockscreen(); strcpy(errstring, GetCatalogStr(CatalogPtr, MSG_ERROR_CANTLOAD, "Can't load")); strcat(errstring, " "); strcat(errstring, miscglyphimagename[i]); strcat(errstring, "!"); rq(errstring); } } unlockscreen(); } }

I don't know whether PyGame is crap or not, not having OS4....surely if it indeed crap it is not my fault though, I did not write it!?
>Also i hope you are smart enough to understand that none of us want to support os3 anymore.
You may not but it is wrong to assume that no one else does and to claim to speak on behalf of everyone. At the moment the Classic Amiga userbase is still much larger than that for OS4.1.
>If you want to talk about "only os3 make it possible", then go at any other site, and make your faggest here.
WTF, what are you calling me a faggot for, that is a bit much isn't it!? Go f**k yourself c**t. And when did I say "only os3 make it possible"?
>For sure, os3 lunatic have other place where they can jerky on outdated hardware and retro software.
I'm a lunatic for using AmigaOS 3, when OS4 is still missing functionality that is present in eg. 3.9? That makes no sense. And I'm typing this on a 2.4GHz machine, hardly oudated hardware, indeed it is faster than any Amiga that has ever been built. So really, who is using outdated hardware, not me...
