@Mikey_C
I'm replying before reading the other 50+ posts, so forgive me if I repeat what's been said.
I see the "visits" traffic at other sites is still busy, but the posts are fewer. Many I think have gone into hibernation mode while the court case works its self out. What few Amiga projects remain, can't really proceed untill legal issues are decided it seems. So it seems news activity is down and there just isn't much to talk about.
When legal stuff starts moving, things will probably get very chatty again. Until then, I do tend to hear the fat lady warming up backstage some times.

@Swoop Quote: If Jamie uses any of the AVD code in an Amiga INC project, while he is an employee, then that code belongs to AInc, and cannot be used in any other project. Thats why Drawstudio cannot be released under GPL. So to me, this looks like goodbye AVD. That would be the way I see it too. One option I see... the current code is not part of the hire, and he can release it open source for some one else to continue. Everyone who belives that might happen raise your hand. Plaz

Only if it worked as a babe magnet I guess. "Is that an fusion reactor in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" So how is tha puppy at brewing beer? :) Follow up: Good greif man, I wouldn't have my beer any where near there. Sounds like a potential mess from the cold war days..... Quote: A 65-metre deep shaft used for intermediate level nuclear waste disposal is contaminating some groundwater, and is threatened by coastal erosion in about 300 years time. The shaft was never designed as a waste depository, but was used as such on a very ad-hoc and poorly monitored basis, without reliable waste disposal records being kept. In origin it is a relic of a process by which a waste-discharge pipe was constructed. The pipe was designed to discharge waste into the sea. Historic use of the shaft as a waste depository has resulted in one hydrogen gas explosion [2] caused by sodium and potassium wastes reacting with water. At one time it was normal for workers to fire rifles into the shaft to sink polythene bags floating on water.[3] There are fears that accumulated material might represent a potential critical mass Plaz

@Raziel Well I've got tons/years of experience, great at repairs and I've got a few techniques for replacing parts like this, but I don't think I'd try to rework anyones amiga card but my own unless there was no other hope for it. Have you though about sending it some where they specialize in BGA rework? It would be expensive though. Here's one method I recommend you don't try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb9NRBLQVP4&NR=1I wonder is anyone has any "beyond hope" cards that I could work with? Couldn't hurt to try I guess. Maybe Jean-Jacque has a few in a scrap bin. Plaz

@Atheist
You'd have a hard time placing that on the table. When does a black hole become a black hole, and exacly how many protons is that? Billions? That shoots it right past all the other elements that that end the proton count around what...104?
Just remember it's all theory anyway.

@Mikey_C & @Outcast Sure those guys were great too. I loved abbot and costello. But I'm talking silents films here years and years before A&C. I liked Harold too, just not quite as much. Every one has their favorites. But if you've never seen Buster (He seems to be a bit forgotten among the other stars) and you've liked other silents, you should check out a couple of the ones I've mentioned. I was always wowed by his athletic comedy. Jackie Chan, self-confessed fan of Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd said... "The stunts that Buster Keaton did were amazing, especially for that time: no safety, no nothing." Empire Magazine UK interview 1997. From Wikipedia... "Harold Lloyd ranks alongside Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton as one of the most popular and influential film comedians of the silent film era." These guys enfluenced every era to follow actually. The way Buster keeps that stone serious face in any situation while pulling of dangerous stunts, makes him my fav. Do your self a favor, turn the sound off for this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlkdtS8OFlAAnd if you have time, turn the sound back on for this one.... Buster was never known as a romantic character, so this one was kinda cool and amusing when I saw it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qQ6oXB1VyYPlaz

Buster Keaton (link), silent film star, comedy king. Also nicknamed "Ol dead pan" For those not familiar or non native english speakers, "dead pan" refers to the lack of emotional facial expression. No matter how crazy or bad things got for Buster, he always wore the same face, solved the problem and made the audience laugh. (Fitting for my stay in Amigaland) Watch one of his old films from the 1920's. Being silent films, no english necessary. Good examples... "The General" "College" "The Goat" Plaz edit: wrong title for #2

According to the last information sent to the Prometheus mailing list many many months ago, there was new DMA supporting firmware that was still being tested. There was a breif discussion about how the update would be distributed when it was ready because a prom burning type tool would be needed to reflash the firmware. I've not seen any other updates since then.

I hear ya Mikey, I'm getting cross-eyed reading all the docs and then all of the analysis on all the boards. Pass the asprin bottle when you're through eh?
I think we all knew the state of Amiga was a real mess before this. Now with lots of the info coming out of the shadows, we can really see what a mess it truely is.
Not only has this thrown a dark cloud over things, but I had also started a bit of a parody music project called.... 'amigaland' of course. I thought it would be a fun contribution to the community. I was about 70% finished when this lawsuit hit. It really threw a wrench in the theme of my project. Not quit sure yet how to finish up now with all these new twist, but I still plan to finish it.
