I have tried a DWL G520 also on a Sam Flex, (it is second hard, Ebay)it does not want to know, it is listed as a "maybe" in the readme. Have ordered a Netgear to try instead.
Maybe a tread of what is found to work an idea.

Sam 440 Flex
Fitting a usb stick to the connector attached to J19a then powering up, I have the following:
ERROR: CTL:TIMEOUT
This does not occur with it's sister port J19b
Powering up without the usb stick in J19a and once Workbench has appeared fitting the usb stick to port J19a there is no error.
Kingston 2gb and 4gb used
Regards

@ ssolie
Kickstart halts on loading, due to an self inflicted error while installing graphic driver, then found my AOS4.1 disk would not boot from the DVD Drive. Entering "sii3114_conf1002" was in hope that it would be a solution, not so. Am locked out.
Best Regards

My SAM 440 Flex will not boot the AOS 4.1 cd.
The SATA data cable is in J23
SATA data cable has being checked. Power cable has being checked. DVD Drive has being checked.
* checked means replaced with another
Best Regards

saveenv is now working.
After entering the command I kept my finger on the return key longer than I would normally, I have a PS2 keyboard with a usb adapter, maybe there in was the cause.

I have a Sam 440 flex.
Need to enter setenv sii3114_conf1002, when entered I next enter saveenv, result "saving environment to EEPROM....".
It however then will not let me enter " reset" or any text. Have tried numerous times.
Best Regards.

@ Chris
Correct, the Sata cables were incorrectly placed, in the transfer from one case to the other was sure that I had not unplugged them, I am getting old.

@ Thematic
Thats a relief as I have AOS4 and Linux on the drive, would be a heartbreaker to reinstall everything
