Re: Amiga Youtube videos

@RuDeE

Hey, that's no good. On my SamFlex800, I can normally play MODs in MilkyTracker, and watch DVD in a small window at the same time. What video card do you have?

Here is my latest video with improvements. It is short, but gives a good sample of Joerg's OWB browser.

AmigaOne-OWB-Youtube

After buying better video converter hardware and building a completely new Windows computer on 64 bit hardware and software to do the recording, the 720p video quality is better. Unfortunately the Windows box is still too slow as you can see some recording skips. I'm going to save up money to upgrade either the CPU or the hard disk and try again.

@QuikSanz
That card uses the VIA VT6421A disk controller chipset which is not supported by OS4. I've read people also having problems getting proper support for this card with other operating systems as well.

Paypal policy: "If you use your bank or PayPal balance, it is free. Neither you or the recipient will pay any fees."

"Fees apply only if the sender uses a credit or debit card, or if you receive any payment for goods or services"

I've never been charged to send or accept money using my personal Paypal account.

If you are using it like a business to sell products or services, there is a seller fee up to 3%

@Antique
I've read that type of story a dozen times in the last 10 years and all of them were a joke. I'll patiently wait for Acube's next release.

Remote Hosted Amiga OS4.1 (VNC)
Just popping in
Just popping in

1) I would like to know if any developers here have interest in paying a small fee to access an AmigaOS 4.1 system for program testing. Access would be through VNC. This will be an AmigaOneXE or a SAM

2) I'm offering free banner space to anyone here for 3 months at http://www.hostcove.com

3) I've got a related hosting poll here:

You must log in to see the poll

I'm starting some web hosting services at http://www.hostcove.com
I would like to know what services people have the most interest in while I am creating some alpha stage product offerings.

Also, I'm offering a free banner space at the top of my website to anyone at Amigans.net for 3 months. Please contact me if you are interested.

Re: TCP/IP Printer on Sam440 ?

@freddix
Yes. In addition to the lpr.device configuration, you must also select a printer driver. I don't think there are any drivers which support Brother printers. Sometimes basic text printing can be done using the "generic" driver included with OS4. Also, if the printer supports Postscript, the "postscript" driver may work. I looked up your printer specifications and it does not seem to support Postscript. But, you can try it and let us know.

Re: Using two RAM modules in an XE...

@Raziel
I've used both 100Mhz and 133Mhz configurations, but I did not notice any performance difference on my XE 800 Mhz CPU. Most of the time I tried 2 sticks, the computer would not boot. It may have been from my memory bus speed setting, but I don't remember. I'll have to it again sometime.
Somewhere I have a box of a dozen 512MB and 1GB sticks for the AmigaOne. When I find it, I should probably sell them to other users here who need them.

Re: The Amiga Samba Support Thread

I can mount Windows shares just fine using SMBFS, but it has a file access size limitation of 4GB, and has trouble with files that start with a dot.

Does anyone know if you can mount Windows shares on OS4 using Samba instead?

Trying Amigans.net

Howdy, I'm not a new Amiga user, but I am new to this website. I've been dedicated to Amigaworld.net, but got tired fo the site for the following reasons in order of priority.

1) People who contribute nothing, but keep expecting other people to provide something.
2) x86 supporters who live in a fantasy where everyone in the world will magically use an Amiga.
3) People who ask questions that were already answered in the same thread they were posting in.
4) AROS

I live in Utah, USA and have:
1x SAM Flex 800 Mhz
1x AmigaOneXE 800 Mhz
1x Amiga4000 PPC
1x Amiga1000 packed away

I'll be displaying some of the above hardware at the Las Vegas Commvex gathering next weekend.
