Re: Amiga MAME/MESS - anyone working on it?

Sounds like a great idea.

Mame seems to have a problem with sound on my MicroA1 it stutters.

So, a port that fixes that would be most welcome.

Mitch

You seem to be doing a grand job. Maybe we should try and get you an on-line form set up at some point tied in with the members site ID or something.

Having said that, the system admins/devs are all extremely busy at the moment, maybe a couple of weeks down the line.

Keep going though

@Hondo

Welcome.

No, this site will not go "off the rails" as you put it, because unlike other sites out there, the people behind this site are commited AmigaOS4 users. We use it every day, we know the software and the hardware, we know its limitations and we know its strengths.

Above all though, we are not an amiga inc worshipping site. All we care about is AmigaOS4, whilst still looking back to the past for Classic and Emulation users.

(Heck I use E-UAE)

I am happy to announce that the development staff have installed the Members module which can be used to search for a particular user registered on this site.

It can be found on the Main Menu and features a list of options you can use to search for a member on this site.

Many thanks to the site admins/devs for their hard work.

@poweramiga

(and to spite Outcast)

90 And Going Strong

A 90-year-old man said to his doctor, "I've never felt better. I have an 18-year old bride who is pregnant with my child. What do you think about that?"

The doctor considered his question for a minute and then said, "I have an elderly friend who is a hunter and never misses a season. One day when he was going out in a bit of a hurry, he accidentally picked up his umbrella instead of his gun. When he got to the Creek, he saw a rabbit sitting beside the stream. He raised his umbrella and went, 'bang, bang' and the rabbit fell dead. What do you think of that?"

The 90-year-old said, "I'd say somebody else killed that rabbit."

The doctor replied, "My point exactly."

@Mitch

Tell you what, lets do something positive, you write an article/guide on how to make Amiga OS4 more secure using AMISSL v1, v2 & 3 and I'll make sure its published on this site and you are given full credit for it.

Lets be constructive, not destructive.

Look, I don't think that anyone here is aware that there are some potential risks being an AmigaOS4 user or indeed, even OS3.x

Bitching and whining about it don't help, I would wager everyone in here knows the score. I would imagine most of us here are using our amiga's behind some form of firewall so its not as if we are all stupid.

If you want, why not code a bit of anti-virus software for the amiga? or even a native firewall or something.

moaning doesn't help.

Enjoy!

By the time a Marine pulled into a little town, every hotel room was taken.

"You've got to have a room somewhere," he pleaded. "Or just a bed, I don't care where."

"Well, I do have a double room with one occupant - an Air Force guy," admitted the manager, "and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to you."

"No problem," the tired Marine assured him. "I'll take it."

The next morning the Marine came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. "How'd you sleep?" asked the manager.

"Never better."

The manager was impressed. "No problem with the other guy snoring, then?"

"Nope, I shut him up in no time" said the Marine.

"How'd you manage that?" asked the manager.

"He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room," the Marine" explained.

"I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, said, 'Goodnight, beautiful,' and he sat up all night watching me."

NOTICE TO NEW MEMBERS: Please Read (AMENDED)
Amigans Defender
Amigans Defender

The below are just general guidelines and it is neither the TOS nor is it the Statement of Intent. If you want to read up on the TOS, go -> here /Orgin

Despite making this site's stance clear, some individuals with sole interests in alternative Amiga OS like platforms are signing up to amigans.net

Once more, in case it has not been noted, this site is primarily for the promotion and support of AmigaOS4 (and hopefully beyond), with a look back to classic users and emulation.

We do not need to be preached/evangalised about how good other alternatives are - "Not today thank you"

There are plenty of other web portals out there which cater for people who want to know about these platforms.

We don't need antagonists on this webportal and we reserve the right to membership.

Original Post follows.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all, thank you all for joining. We are very glad you came. Hopefully you'll stay too.

Couple of things I would like to share with you if I may.

1: This site is for the promotion and support of AmigaOS4 and beyond Only (inc assosciated hardware).
We will also support/welcome AOS3.x & Emulation users as well. (But not promote OS3.x for obvious reasons)

2: This site will NOT be an open house to other platforms.
I urge you all to read the Terms of Service on the LEFT to see that our Terms of Service here are very different to elsewhere.

3: Whilst this is a site geared towards OS4 and beyond, we will not tolerate the slagging off/putting down of other platforms or OS's on this webportal, nor individuals.

4: Trolls from other sites will not be welcome on this site, if anyone trolls on this site, action will be taken immediately. Do not try our patience as we have none.

5: We reserve the right as to who is allowed to use this site. Usage/Posting of this site is a privilage not a right. (See Terms of Service)

Finally, We ask each of you to tell any other OS4/OS3 user about the site and invite them onboard.

Do not feed the trolls elsewhere and do not post about this site on any other amiga related web portal.

If during the course of a forum discussion, someone asks where we are, pm them privately and tell them, as long as they meet our criteria, i.e. OS4/Classic/Emulation user, they are welcome

Thank you, enjoy this site.

Mikey C
