By Chris de Burgh Album: "Into The Light" - 1986 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight, I've never seen you shine so bright, I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance, They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance, And I have never seen that dress you're wearing, Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes, I have been blind;
The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek, There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I want to be, But I hardly know this beauty by my side, I'll never forget the way you look tonight;
I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight, I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing, I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side, And when you turned to me and smiled, it took my breath away, And I have never had such a feeling, Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight;
The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek, There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I want to be, But I hardly know this beauty by my side, I'll never forget the way you look tonight;
I never will forget the way you look tonight... The lady in red, the lady in red, The lady in red, my lady in red,
I love you...

@LiveForIt
As i understand it, as soon as OGR25 is finished, the client will automatically switch to OGR32/whatever?

@Rogue et al Thanks for all the insights and techie background info This "virtual environment" caught my eye, though. Mind if i pesker you with a question? Programs running in this environment are meant to be "old" programs (like a todays build of ScummVM), written for the "not-memory-protected-kernel", aren?t they? They?d still run, but "inside" this environment (which isn?t meant to be "bad" or "slower", isn?t it?). For devs and porters (like me ... maybe ... one day) does that mean a matter of rewriting the whole thing (devs) or simply rebuilding under the, then used, SDK (ports)? Keep going, Rogue

@Rogue who said Quote: Funny you should talk about being polite, seeing how you quote me out of context on amigaworld.net under a subject that was chosen to attract trolls. I take offence at your false accusation: I stated my honest opinion that I was surprised (indeed shocked) at what I saw as a sudden & unexpected change of direction for OS4 (and I have previously tried to explain why). I also quoted most of what you said, and provided a link for people to check. Now, I may have chosen a title designed to attract attention, but I honestly don't see how it was designed to attract trolls, unless you think the population of AW.net is mostly composed of trolls...

A mplayer plugin for tunenet anyone? (xmms on linux uses mpalyer for certain formats). Mpayer can be used in a "slave" mode (using pipe for commands) Jack

@K-L
I ran it about 2 years ago, it wasn't crunching for OGR, but something different which might be already finished. I could use the Windows PC to crunch for Amiga OS. It had about 20x the performance of my Amiga with Warpos Dnetc. But it was great that it counted for the Amiga team, even without running AmigaOS! AmigaOS has quite a big share in the stats! But what is included? Os3.x (also with Winuae and Amithlon), OS4, also Mos?

I really love the style and professionalism displayed in their advertisements.
Except for the two spelling mistakes: 1. You write months like September with capital letters! 2. It's setup s not setup, because it is plural! Maybe it is also better to write "a complete system", instead of "one complete system", but I am not sure.

This sounds promising. It would be really nice if they could release Amiga OS4 for this board at the same time. However, we'll just have to wait and see.

@Atheist
OGR32 crunching speed probably increases as computer becomes faster, so probably need to add this factor in graphs.

@Helge If you use Dnetc 68k (under WinUAE ou Amithlon), it won't notice it is a PC, it will count it as AmigaOS/68k. Moreover, the rules haven't change since a very long time And don't forget to check: http://www.acggbg.org/proxy/ogr/ which is updated daily and was also created for Amiga

@Atheist
Did the rules for the participation change? I had a Windows system crunching when I was at work and an Amiga-system with WarpOS at home too. Also the Windows crunching counted for the Amiga team. And what about crunching with Amithlon and Winuae? If you have a very fast Core2Duo, then it should be VERY fast. Will they notice that it's not a real Amiga, even if it's running AmigaOS?

I remember that Acube was planning to get CRUX Linux running on Samantha. They have supplied a board to the PPC Linux team so that they can work on it.
