I think this is GCC 5.3 for AmigaOS 4.

@invent

Great work! Looking forward to see your next work.

ImageFX 4.5 has an animation capability via the layers system. It has some tools for mpegs but those are dated.

Looks great, really looking forward to playing it!

I've been working my way through the classics, Dungeon Master and Black Crypt. This would be a great additional.

Synergy Client refresh
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi All,

Over the years I've come to really love using Synergy between my PC and Amiga. I have been using's the STRICQ version from Os4Depot called AmiSynergy. It's starting to show it's age and the original source is lost.

I found out that the MOS guys did a port from uSynergy for 3.6. I had a quick look at the source and it should be not tooo much work for someone who knows what they are doing. I'm hoping someone can take a look at this and get it ported over:

https://github.com/synergy/synergy/tree/master/src/micro

Thanks!

@BSzili

This is not fun sexy game but a hard core nice tool to have: https://github.com/axboe/fio

It's used to generate IO to test disk speeds. Would be very nice to have to understand how well or poorly our systems IO performs.

Thanks!

Amiga 30th anniversary celebration at the Computer History Museum July 25th and 26th update
Just popping in
Just popping in

Holy cow lots has happened behind the scenes. Of course behind the scenes means its looked like nothing has been happening but that is not the case.

We are putting the final touches on a kickstarter campaign to fund this event. The primary goal will be to collect donations with perks ranging from T-shirts to banquet tickets to unique Amiga memorabilia. We will have two stretch goals for the kickstarter, internet streaming, and a full two day event!

We have already received some corporate sponsorship to help getting us started. By community funding this event we will be able to host Amiga related groups and companies for the two day event with little cost for the access to the space.

The Computer History Museum (CHM) in Mountain View, CA is the premier location to honor the Amiga's contribution to the PC revolution. Just this past weekend the CHM hosted the 25th anniversary of the launch of Photoshop. The CHM has also seen the 30th anniversary for the C= 64 and the Apple Macintosh. This is the place bar none.

The banquet will be the jewel of the weekend. We will feature historical displays (expanded if we can fund the two day event), special video presentations, and a panel featuring original Amiga Corporation engineers and current Amiga movers and shakers. The panel will include, Dale Luck, Dave Needle, and many more. Did I mention that the Lorraine prototype boards, Amiga 1000 Serial #1, and an Amiga development machine will be at the event? You can see from the image taken at a recent video shoot for the kickstarter some of the history we will have.

Resized Image
From the set of the upcoming Kickstarter intro video.

What do we need from you? Hang in there another week or so for the announcement of the official kickstarter launch. We will be offering banquet tickets in two tiers to reward the early birds.

We are also looking for volunteers and keepers of Amiga historical items, please contact me.

Finally, if you were a member of the original Amiga 1000 launch team, YOU ARE INVITED, if we have not contacted you yet, please reach me by PM here.

This is going to be an amazing and once in a lifetime event for the Amiga Community. It's the 30th anniversary and our favorite girl deserves a big birthday party, help make it happen!

Bill "tekmage" Borsari

PS, there are other events being planned so watch for and attend those as well!

Hey Xenic,

Thanks for picking up the torch on Dopus!

I've running the nightly from 1/30 and it looks like I'm getting a crash in Environment_open.

I've created a ticket in SF: https://sourceforge.net/p/dopus5allamigas/bugs/51/

Hi All,

I wanted to see if anyone is working on DOpus5. I ask because I've been thinking about a few OS4 specific changes and wanted to see if I could work with someone else to improve it.

Thanks All,

Re: Another reason why we need webcam support

@djrikki

I saw that too. I think we need a DirectShow or gStreamer type system so it would be possible for the browsers to support ObjectRTC or WebRTC. Interestingly Randal Jessup of AmigaOS fame worked on WebRTC at Mozilla.

Here's to hoping!

Have you done this change?

Dopus WB replacement at boot

Hi All,

When I launch Dopus at boot to replace WB I get a few pop-up windows saying that workbench is already launched. Anyone seen this?

Is there a guide on how best to boot OS4 with Dopus as a replacement?

Cheers,
Bill

Re: DOpus5 frustration

@kilaueabart

I was a DM2 user for many years as well. I switched to DOpus5 with WB 3.1 or 3.5 and loved it. As Kras1e mentiones Dopus5 is a beast with a vast amount of configuability. It takes time to get it setup properly but when it does it just sings.

Two tricks for working with Dopus5 on AmigaOS4. First, holding shift while clicking a file will launch by icon. Second, swtching the view to "icon" (right click the title bar) will show pretty much the standard WB window, it will also use DefIcons so files types will be recongnized.

I hope Dopus5 development has not stopped. I'd like to see their built in file system be replaced by DefIcons, or atleast use Deficons as a fall back before the sniffer dialog.

I'd also like to see all the Dopus customized prefs be placed in to ENV: so they are not over writen when a new version is copied over.

To kras1e and the Dopus5 team, thank you whole heartedly for your efforts!

Hi All,

Anyone look in to porting Luminance HDR software? The website is: http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/

Looks like the latest version is build with QT 5.2.

This is software for blending together different exposures of the same image.
