I have an Amiga 1200 with 030 .. using it for gaming and demos.

My kids use it alot to play superfrog, zool, hugo etc.

I have come over a CD32 version of Cannon Fodder. I have never emulated CD32 on my miggy before, which is the best way to do so?

Or should I go WHDload ?

Ibrowse2.4 might arrive soon, ackording to the bug-watcher there is plenty of things going on with the development of Ibrowse 2.4. Anyone have information about any releasedate (or similar). Voyager is dead (?).. Awebs development seems slow and any news on Amyzilla?

Amiga OS needs a good browser for sure, and I hope the community buys and support software from those who codes.

Before you get anytning faster than a 030, please check out which rev. your mobo has.. 1d4 have known problems with accelerators with 040 and 060. There are plenty information on the net about it.

Normaly you can fit any accelerationcards in the original case. Thats the point to it! BUT .. the 040 is known to be very hot, so you probably need a fan. Some people lift the bottom of the amiga a couple of cm from the table so air can circulate. If you get a 060 lifting is not needed, its not getting that hot.

My opinion is this. Getting a 030 is as good as getting a 040. Or spend some more money and get a 060. Its cooler, faster and you can run the latest scene-productions.

If your purpose is oldschool games, go for the 030. 040 is something between, and not as good as the 030 or 060. (i know I can be beaten for that oppinion).

Concerning different cards.. I would spend my money on a Phase5 card (Blizzard). Apollo migh be cheaper, but they dont last as long and have some compatible problems. Apollo is not as expandable as Phase5.

It all depends on what you want to do with yer A1200..

Get a tower!
Get a PPC-card with 060 processor
Get a PCI-bridge (like Mediator)
Get a gfx-card
Get a Soundcard
Get a network card
Install OS4 when it is released..

And have fun :)

I talked to Ryu yesterday, nice guy btw, and we talked about the best classic setup for running OS4.

I've decided after his conversation to buy AOS4 whenever it will be released. He said that probably the best setup is Mediator and Voodoo5500. At least it will support 3d-drivers. Bvision is also supported, but only 2d-drivers.

Mediator wont be supported in "native mode" but may be emulated through Elbox own drivers.

He also said that 64mb is enough, but the more the better. Even with the new memsystem.

As I've heard before the 060 processor will be shut down when operating os4. The best way (imo) is to use two boot partitions. One with OS4 and one with f.i. OS3.9.

I was thinking if Bvision was a better HW for using with OS4. Great, so no need of searching for a Bvision then.

According to some sources AmigaOS4.0 will work on classic range of Amigas with PPC-cards! What is in this case is the best setup?
