The first event should start at 10:10 local time (UTC +02).

Edit: I cannot now get even the 'blue version' in Linux browsers to work... It just runs again and again the start advertisement, there is no way to get the actual stream. I can see from the results listing that the event has already started, though. Very strange...

Yes, you have always been very helpfull here .

I wonder if I dare to ask whether it would be possible to get also the 'day3' link for Saturday...? That's the last one. I have not been able to localize a Linux sw which would do the job.

@Spectre660

Thank you very much!! No need to watch anymore the 'Vinean' version of Nebelhorn... ;). The stream works well with e.g. VLC 3.0.4 and 3.0.16 (but for some reason not with 3.0.12), and also with Mplayer of MintPPC.

Ah... That is no help for me as I don't use windows (never have ;). Is there a similar program for Linux?

I already did, but there was not any m3u8 URLs visible. The code listing was wery short, BTW.

Thanks... Unfortunately that was not the today's livestream from Nebelhorn Trophy but some older stream from Germany's Championships ;). How did you get it? There may have been a link for it on the Nebelhorn's page, if you just looked through the code.

But I tested it anyway with VLC in X5000 and it works... CPU load was smaller than I expected, even though it is 1080p.

I hope I can find the right link for Friday's stream... (https://sportdeutschland.tv/deutsche-e ... belhorn-trophy-2021-tag-2)

Hmm... I do not understand how those browsers which can show streams do the trick. Do they have a huge library of such scripts, hiding in some drawer?

Thank you for checking it! I tested also with Linux, and I was able to run a stream (https://sportdeutschland.tv/deutsche-e ... belhorn-trophy-2021-tag-1 )in Spiderweb, but unfortunately the colors are wrong due to the endianess issue. BTW, are there nowadays any monitors which could 'fix' that problem by swapping colors, if needed?

Could someone having the commercial version of Emotion please test whether 'Sportsdeutschland' videos and streams work with it...?

E.g. https://sportdeutschland.tv/deutsche-e ... -meisterschaft-2021-tag-2

What resolution can you use smoothly with that site (X5000, with Radeon HD 5000/6000)? Does the link above work directly with Emotion, or do you have to dig someway the 'metalink' for it?

Thanks for the tip about the technical manual! But I was not able to find from it a) where the motherboard sensor(s) and b) the pcie-switch are located.

Or is the pcie-switch possibly the chip which has a heat sink on it but no fan? (located on the Cyrus board near the corner diagonally opposite to the battery holder)

This pcie-temperature seems to be the most sensitive to the blow speed setting of the case fans, which would logical if it has a heat sink.

Hmm.... Not any answer?

It is somewhat ironical that some people make the effort to program a tool of which no one knows what it is REALLY doing !-)

@eliyahu

Thank you for your answer!

> I have the commercial version and it works very well indeed, including with streams.

How does it behave with m3u8 multistreams? Does it just select automatically one resolution, or can you select it by yourself?

> However I should point out that the limitation for HD videos is the underlying graphics system, not Emotion.
> You need VA library support, and that is currently only for RadeonRX cards. With RadeonHD SI cards you get 480p
> in just about every supported codec, and some 720p videos, depending on code.

So, doesn't the graphics board and it's properties have ANY effect on the video performance? Do you get the exactly same performance from e.g. a HD 5450 with DDR3 and a R9 280X with GDDDR5, as neither of them has VA library support?

When looking at the performance test results for X5000 from HDRlab's pages, there seems to be only two categories what comes to the "Memcopy speed, RAM to VRAM", the lower group including all boards up to HD 6000 series, and the higher with HD 7000 and newer boards. Copying speed of the newer group (slightly over 500 MiB/s) is double of that of the older ones, independently what memory type is used on the boards. Doesn't even that difference have effect on the video performance?

> It does not seem to play MP3 streams, at least not for me. For that there is AmigaAMP3 or TuneNet.

Ok, that is not a big problem...

I noticed that Emotion can be purchased both via AmiStore and from Alinea. Is there any difference between those sources? Is the version the same, and can it be updated similarly if there will be newer versions? It would be easier to buy it from Alinea as AmiStore behaves sometimes unexpectedly, and I do not use Paypal...

Emotion - the commercial version?

I have tested the demo version of Emotion in my X5000, and it is far from perfect... It can run 720p videos slightly sluggishly but does not seem to work with any streams from net ('unknown format').

How does the commercial version differ from the demo? Are there any improvements in stability and speed? Can you run net streams (also live ones, and in m3u8 format)? What is the max video/stream resolution you can run smoothly and sound sync with picture in a X5000/20 equipped with a) r7 240 or b) HD 5450?

(Please do not advertise the RX cards as they are incompatible with PPC Linux and thus completely useless fo me!)

There are nowadays temp dockies for X5000, and they give the values for the CPU, PCB and PCIe.

From what points exactly are the PCB and PCIe temperatures measured? What does the PCIe value actually mean and what factors are rising or lowering it?

@jap
IMHO you should have chosen a better service which is compatible with AmigaNG browsers, as this poll was addressed to AmigaNG users. There is nothing special in this kind of simple 'tick-select' pages what Odyssey could not handle, if the javascript code is kept backwads compatible. A good example is the settings pages of modems/routers which are basically similar and still in most cases usable with Odyssey (e.g. my Sagemcom modem which is still on the market can be fully controlled with Odyssey).

Very strange. What migh cause that...? I have a HD 5450 and a R7 240, and both work with HDMI, DVI and VGA.

>- Max 1080P resolution at 60Hz

Is that limitation only due to the DVI/VGA? If HDMI works with MOS, can you there get higher resolutions?

>- No Warp 3D/Nova support so no Blender, no Shaderjoy
>- No accelerated video in Emotion/Odyssey

Yes, that is the limitation of our software. On the bright side, with Linux there is 3D and accelerated video (but only with low resolutions).

Radeon HD 6450

Do Radeon HD 6450 graphics cards (Caicos) work with the RadeonHD driver for AmigaOS? In HDRlabs compatibility list there are only two Asus models listed and they do not work properly.

I found a local mail-order shop which sells these models only for 10 eur/pcs:

***
Radeon HD 6450 512Gb GDDR5 display adapter: AMD-product code: ATI-102-C26405(B); HP spare nro: 637996-001 ja HP assy nro: 637183-001; Type: 2D/3D, 512Mb, 1xDVI, 1xDP; Graphiics processor: ATI Radeon HD 6450; GPU: 625MHz...
***

Are they compatible with our systems, or are they some HP-only models? Is the 512 GB enough for ordinary use?

I tested first a few days with just SoundPlayer commented out. I still got a few freezes but clearly fewer than before. In these cases it was the 'LoadWB' which got stuck (the 'echo' after it was not recorded).

I tested further by removing 'X-Dock' from 'WBStartup' and run it from Startup-Sequence (as last item there). With this arrangement I did not get any freezes when machine was started from the power button. Only one freeze (LoawWB) appeared when I first run Linux and left it by 'reboot' to get to AmigaOS.

Now I'm testing with another Soundcard (Sound Blaster Live! SB0220 PCI; the previous one was an Envy24HT PCIe), and both 'X-Dock' and 'Soundplayer' at the end of Startup-Sequence. No freezes so far but have to follow the situation a few days further...

@geenam @Raziel

Do you have an account at the Hyperion's site? The Linux fora there would be the best place to solve Linux issues.

BTW, I hope you do not have a RX graphics board....? They are unfortunately not supported in PPC Linux, so you cannot get the desktop loaded if you have one.

@geennaam
>Can you point me to the linux distro that you intent to use?

There are currently only three distros which are still updated and usable in X5000:

- MintPPC (which is best kept up-to-date)
http://mintppc.nl/

- Fienix (which is the most Amiga-friendly as the keeper has X5000)
https://fienixppc.blogspot.com/

- Ubuntu 16.04 (only minor updates, this will soon be unsupported)

But the kernels for X1000/X5000 are common for all distros, and they are very well kept up-to-date, thanks to the work of 'xeno74' (see https://forum.hyperion-entertainment.com/viewforum.php?f=58).
