Hyperion's website log-in

Hello.
After the news that "Freespace" got an update, I went directly to Hyperion's website to get it. I'm a registered Freespace (and others) user, so I didn't expect any problems. Yet... my username and password are not recognized anymore!!!!
It's been a while since I logged in, but I didn't expect this. Browsing the site for a suitable e-mail address to get help, I found none.
Anyone can point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

I'm betting your e-mail, unfortunately, will have the same end mine did when I was waiting for the "fixed" Nightlong CDs. They made great games, but as a company they left a lot to be desired.

@Varthall
I'm using DHCP, yes, since there no alternative without a router. I know a router will make it easier on this front, but I've had one in the past and had (other) trouble. But, IIRC, it was with Miami and my old A1200.
The thing is everything worked fine as it is, why did it stop? Why am I being suddenly "imposed" a faulty DNS?!?!? Where is the DNS list fetched from? My ISP? If so, I can pressure them a bit more. Can it be cleaned up by them?
I can't see any option to force DNS on the Roadshow prefs, but maybe through the CLI...

@Varthall
Did as you said and this happened.
While "addnetinterface" was halfway through it's procedure:
Network status summary Local host address = 0.0.0.0 (on interface 'mynet') Default gateway address = (Not configured) Domain name system servers = 212.113.161.226
After it finished:
Network status summary Local host address = 85.138.216.208 (on interface 'mynet') Default gateway address = 85.138.223.254 Domain name system servers = 212.113.164.26, 212.113.164.24, 212.113.164.25, 212.113.164.23, 212.113.164.26, 212.113.164.24, 212.113.164.25, 212.113.164.23, 212.113.161.226
So, the value I manually entered seems "overrun" by the ones (I assume) automatically assigned by my ISP.

@logicalheart There's no packet loss on any of the pings, but only the www.amigans.net was immediate (because I was browsing that site at the moment?). The other displayed the now usual and annoying delay... Can I force the DNS used? I was told Windows has an option to force the DNS I want, but Roadshow seems to lack that. I'm still stuck, it's not improving.

@Amigamancer
The "name resolution" field on Roadshow has always been empty. I've been told that, with DHCP, this is taken care of by the ISP...
@MickJT
I don't have a PC in the house, at the moment. I'll try to make a few tests with one, as soon as possible.
This is driving me nuts, but at least I can access the net. Slowly, but it works... :(

DNS server problem? How to solve it?

Lately I've been experiencing some extremely irritating slow downs while accessing the net.
Noticed first on OWB (which, unlike IBrowse, gives no feedback on what's happening), I tried to usual "restart net" and "restart modem" procedures that served me well in the rare problems of this sort I had before. Nothing worked.
Switching to IBrowse, I noticed that, everytime I click on a link, the NetStat Manager tells me IB is spending a couple of seconds on "looking up" mode, starting to load the page afterwards.
I've been told this should be a DNS problem. I've put the adresses "by hand" on Roadshow, but they seem to be ignored when browsing, even though they appear when using "ShowNetStatus".
(Important-downloading stuff from my e-mail seems ok, as does cTorrent)
Ill get a router next week, but it's weird that it started happening without a clear reason. I didn't change anything either on my system or my modem.
I'm getting quite desperate here. :(

@Antique Martin McKenzie, the maintainer of the Amiga version Imagine3D. www.imaginefa.comI can assure you it works on OS-Final, but it needs some configuration to get going properly. And it doesn't work 100%, there are a couple of minor issues, nothing that seriously affects workflow. Yet, it's perfectly useable. And more contributions won't hurt further development. ;)

@Antique
I may be confusing this tutorial with another one, since I tried them quite some time ago, but isn't this "outdated" for OS4? I'm asking because I had the notion that some (window?) tags and way to access structs like IntuiBase used here were not OS4-compatible.
If I'm wrong, please disregard. ;)

@Chris
The CD drive problems you mention were exactly why clickBOOM promised newer discs: those were faulty. They threw the blame on the company that processed the discs, said they had put them on court and were waiting a decision. This was more than 5 years ago. Guess justice is kinda of slow. And that their e-mail system stopped working until they had a decision, too.
@Raziel
I know I don't need to install everything to HD (though I can), but after the (minimal) installation, the game always complains that it went wrong, whenever I try to run it. Real shame...
@Retro
UAE may be able to run the game, but I have serious doubts about the speed, since it was only really playable with the PPC patch applied.

@poweramiga
The only thing I'm sure is that it worked on one of AOS4 incarnations. Not sure which or how I got it working. At first it had graphical glitches, which I solved. It was slow, but the PPC patch (the game cost 100$, this patch was a further $25. Nice doing business with clickBoom) sloved it too. It involved the rtgmaster.library.
On my current one (OS4Final) the installation process fails. I'm pretty sure it works, but can't be bothered at the moment to spend the time to do it. Shame, since it's a pretty cool game and I was really progressing...

@AmiKit
People like that are bad anywhere, but it's especially disgusting when done to a community that was on the downslide. Talk about stealing from the poor.
Good riddance, I say.
PS: I doubt Napalm will ever work, too. It's one of the most stubborn games around, from what I read. Almost all others I've been able to get going (Exodus, WipeOut2097, Payback...), but this one it's a real headache. It was a nice game, but why not try Earth2140? Or even Exodus, though I'd say it's inferior to the previous 2.

They didn't just leave the scene. They left a big mess behind. I'm still waiting for my (promised) fixed "Nighlong" discs. Note:this was a 125$ game.
I had a multiple e-mail conversation with someone there that assured the discs would be sent. This went on, literally, for years. I finally quit dealing with them because someone gave me his copy.

@DiscreetFX
With OS3,due to speed reasons, I always used "scanline" rendering, but since going A1, I've settled for "raytrace" mode instead. I'm not the best person to talk about the actual quality, but am pleased with it.

@Slayer
I'm using the latest version available (5.19). When I run it, the Guru Meditation logo appears, so something is indeed using the wrapper now, though it worked equally well before such wrapper showed up. Rendering is ok, but I know my A1 is capable of much more. Still an improvement over AOS3 speeds. To be honest, it really depends on what you need and expect from it: it doesn't work 100% (read below) and its feature set is outdated, but at least it's being worked on which can't be said of a LOT of commercial programs these days... :(
@Gebrochen
The quick render has always worked fine here, IIRC, but you may be having a configuration problem. I vaguely remembering having trouble long ago, but can't say for sure what was it about. Try using "Trace" as your default quick-render mode. The thing that definitely has problems is the solid (nothing shows up!)and shaded (weird colors!) perspective windows. Yet, this is "solved" by using wireframe mode.
@all
The really great thing is that even the maths textures (the ones with Imagine AND the marvellous Essence sets) work! Well, I had a couple of Grim Reapers related to this, but those are thankfully rare.
I've been neglecting 3D a bit, but it's always my tool of choice. And Martin's support is great. Hopefully, more will buy this and help speed up the development (that has been a bit slow...).

@DiscreetFX
Let me tell you this: Imagine for Amiga is much more alive than for the PC (which had a story almost along the lines of the current AmigaInc vs Hyperion!). Imagine for Windows is dead, Imagine for Amiga still has hopes and they are on Martin's hands. :)
Oh, by the way, Imagine works fine on my A1 OS4.0. Some minor problems (nothing dramatic), but very usable.
