Yes with my passively cooled HD7750 I also get similar result with the Warp3D Cow3D demo.

160-162 fps
171-175 fps (when 'b' pressed)

Not quite as fast as you but the HD7750 probably has a little less grunt than your HD6850.

Thanks Trevor.

My sig is out of date, actual card used is Radeon R9 270X. I replaced the 6850 to get 3D.
Wouldn't want anyone getting excited that there is support for the 6xxx cards yet. 😀

Perhaps it's a more technical question but, why no 3D for 6850?

It works on Linux. The files from AMD are available.......Soooo ?

Two different A-Eon projects done by two different people.
Project 1 = Radeon HD 5000-6000. Project 2 = HD 7000 and up.
Project 2 has reached the stage for a public release.
Project 1 has not. (I dont know why)

ioquake (Huno):

get 'input not supported'??

actually tried Torx, FreeSpace2 & SuperTuxkart get same error but here sound ok in background. Switch back to WB and all is fine everything was fine with my 6870...for some reason now screen modes aren't supported?

ok for SuperTuxkart changed screen mode in prefs and all is good. Gameplay is fluid and getting up to 25fps. Other games can't find prefs or where to change screen mode.

From that description I'm guessing that the modeids changed when you switched graphics cards (or switched monitors), so any saved modeids will be invalid.

That's the downside of using modeids; they're not linked to the resolution and aren't guaranteed to remain the same when you change your hardware.

i haven't yet since i did a clean OS install at the same time upgrading gpu card, I guess i would run into this problem when changing gpu card in the future. it should be a way to unload or uninstall gpu card drivers or something.

You could build a new OS4 iso with the current RadeonHD driver included. You should also be able to include Warp3D, assuming that the installer script copies drawers rather than files on an individual basis.

I'm unable to use my X1000 at the moment to make a a step by step guide but it's fairly simple to do with AmiDVD. You could even make a bootable snapshot of your current Workbench partion which is even better that having a modified OS4 ISO since it will have everything you installed yourself too.

I've done that before too.
