Most certainly not. Pick any OS and see how it goes.

Elwood: I haven't tested these images but it seems there are really old. Not sure they still work. I could check.

With the power of our machines, my main goal was to run DOS for games, and compare with DOSBox. But from what I've seen, games and hardware tricks are better supported by DOSBox.

However, if Bochs can have an interest, that would be worth working a bit more on it.

Note that thanks to diskimage device, it is really easy to manage the content of the hard drive image.

As Bochs allows to run different versions of Windows, I don't see how Dosbox emulation could be better.

Wow, time goes by so fast :-/

Anyone could use the current Bochs port (on OS4depot) and boot from a CDrom or ISO image?

I don't remember well, but I must have tried many things. I think feather Linux booted and QNX demo did not. Everything else was too slow to boot. And the three different versions that I have don't make it easier to recall.

I had been using bochs on my (old sigh :( ) Peg II G4 1.266 ghz and was pretty good with windows 95 and 98 but the fastest was DosBox with W95

I had a considerable speed up after put on my Peggy the 9800pro GFx card
