Hi,

Looking for a quick answer on this one.

In SYS:C/ there is a program called IdeTool.

Is this new to Update 3? When did it first appear? It is a standard compoent of AmigaOS 4 (all versions)?

It's there since the first release of 4.0, so I assume yes, it's standard.

This is the tool used to configure your hard drive transfer rate.

It also allows you to know what is the current tranfer type use (PIO/DMA).

Can everyone please type in their shell 'idetool -c' and copy paste the output into a post on here please?

I am trying to determine the kind of configurations available. The first line is of particular interest to me.

Thanks in advance.

In that case, sorry - I have to own up. That line was just my sick joke, it is freely invented. My X1000 has not arrived yet, but is due very soon. Maybe someone else can provide the actual string, or we'll have to get back to it later.

Best regards,

Niels
