Please could anybody help me out . I want to copy files/pictures etc on to a CD or DVD but I seem to be a bit lost of how to do it.

AmigaOS 4.1 Update 2 running on AMCC PPC440EP with 1,024 MB Mermory and Radeon 9250

You need burrning tool like AmiDVD or FryingPan..

AmiDVD You can find here http://strohmayer.org/ and its free!

Do yourself a favour and read all the text given there, as there are some additions to MakeCD sprinkled all over the place (download links and explanations, I mean).

For CD-only burning, MakeCD is still a superior package once you get used to it

If it is on OS4 and you don't want to burn a normal ISO CD (as already explained) you should be able to format the CD/DVD with System/FormatCDRW and just copy files to it like a floppy diskette. It will only work on Amiga though.

Also, of course this requires a CDRW or DVD?RW (or DVD-RAM), not just a CD-R or DVD?R. And your drive must support this. If it also supports Mount Rainier standard for RW formats (use the CDMRW or DVDMRW DOSDriver to mount), that can be an advantage.
