Hmm, I've just had a thought. I'd be interested to how much quieter it is. I'm guessing it's going to be around half the volume, and I think I know what it might be.

Orgin has kindly opened a bug tracker for TuneNet at http://bugs.os4depot.net, I've start to update it.

Cheers,
Bean.

About half is what I'd say.

How could I assign the execution of an rexx program as soon as the tunenet starts playing a song?

#48 Tested the ANR skins and they work fine...
Skins are OK, but, the functions of the buttons don't work too well.

I've just fixed the issue with the low volume, I'll release a new version very soon. TuneNet has been playing at half volume for all these years.... :O

I've also fixed the "radio scan and search at the same time" bug.

Cheers,
Bean.

The crash when maximising after a playlist completes in minimised mode appears to have gone on brief initial testing.

I may have been a little premature - this bug does still exist. I think the important thing is that it takes down Workbench when attempting to uniconify - the actual act of a playlist finishing when in iconified mode does not cause the problem itself.

If it helps, the playlist contains MP3s only and TuneNet is running in SkinFX only mode. I suspect it's something like SkinFX trying to get information about the currently playing track and not realising that it has finished.

Hi,

I'll add the bug to the bugs.os4depot site.

Thanks for the details,

I may have been a little inaccurate saying it takes down WB - in fact it looks like WB is the one thing that doesn't completely die. All running apps including Amidock stop responding to input and uniconification of other appicons doesn't work.

Hi Chris,

I haven't managed to get round to looking at this issue yet, but it is next on my list.

In the meantime here is a new version (executable only) which fixes some other issues:

http://tunenet.co.uk/downloads/tn8654.lha

V0.86.54 - June 09
* Radio scan list now only picks up MP3 streams (until AAC+ is supported)
* Scan and Search at the same time should not cause a crash any more.
* Audio text on the Reaction GUI was missing! Added.
* AHI output volume doubled after realising it was set at half volume.

Enjoy,
Bean.

Been trying out 86.54...

1) On un-iconify...both the skin and GUI comes up (2 tunenet interfaces)...
2) On occasion I still hear garbled audio but corrects itself fairly quickly (this looks much better than before when the audio was garbled on high CPU loading and only way to correct was to stop and restart playing).

Is there a way for tunenet to autoplay the top item in the list when the program starts. I would like to put it into my user-startup, so that on booting it can play. AmigaAMP has this option but not seeing it for tunenet.

Hi!
I've a problem in audio streaming with TuneNET...
I've a list of italian commercial radios that works only with mplayer and not with TuneNET/AmigaAMP two of them for example was:

Capital : http://live.mediaserver.kataweb.it/capital
LatteMiele : http://onair2.xdevel.com/LatteMiele

any idea? I miss something?
playing they on mplayer wasnt so comfortable...

thank you!

I'm testing it and I get crash (DSI) of task "New process" quite often.

I couldn't make that crash happen again at first. But I got it once when I had TN_MP3_Encode.tnplug installed (in plugins drawer) and Base freq was set to 48000. With Base freq set to 41000 and TN_MP3_Encode.tnplug removed I haven't gotten crashes so far. (I don't know why I had TN_MP3_Encode.tnplug installed because I don't need it.)

With these newer releases of Tunenet DockScope doesn't always work (it's like frozen). But if I close and restart Tunenet (and Dockscope) then it works again. It's random.

Have you tried upping the player priority in the preferences. I don't get the garbled sound on my system even under heavy CPU usage. What is your system/sound card?

TuneNet has a few CLI options, you should be able to load a list and play from CLI (you can either enable or supress the GUI's). Type TuneNet ? from a CLI and see if you can get it going. If not let me know.

Cheers,
Bean

@Tuxedo,

What format are the two streams? Are they MP3 shoutcast streams?

Bean

1) I have a SAM440 (built-in audio from SAM). I hd noticed this issue more on my A4000T with the older version of Tunenet (haven't tried this latest one though). Post 46 has a better description -- this is pretty much the same observations that I've had. I did try different priorities on my A4000T but didn't help. Again, on the SAM I have observe the out-of-sync (garbled/choppy audio) but has been rare and then it seems to correct itself fairly quickly.

2) I got this going now! Very simple "tunenet -playlist <name of file>"

Thanks!

1) I just tried 86.54 on my 4oooT -- it is still very evident on this system. I basically can open OWB (a few websites open on multiple windows). Then I start dragging the windows around etc....and audio gets choppy. Not seeing this on AmigaAMP...

@TSK

What version of the MP3 encoder did you have installed?

Can you do a:
version tunenet:plugins/TN_MP3_Encode.tnplug

I've V1.4 and it appears to be working OK here (with 44.1 or 48 Khz). (Remember recording with this encoder can be very processor intensive). If you're getting random DSI errors it might be also worth checking you have the latest version of every replayer (plugin).

The DockScope will have to be looked at by Curty. Curty?!

@Tuxedo,

That stream is DivX audio and not supported by TuneNet. Sorry.

@my_pc_is_amiga,

Hmm, looks like I might have to put in a larger audio buffer for slower machines. I can only suggest using playback set to "simple" from the preferences for the moment - that should bypass most of the Audio mixing (which might help a little).

Cheers.
Bean.

Oh I'm just remembering another minor "bug" -- maybe from the Protracker plugin...but when playing mods in a list, there is a infinite repeat on that song (even though I don't have that option selected). i.e. it does not go to next song in list...
