I'd love to see UPnP support in TuneNet. My network drive that i intend to use to store all my music supports it, as well as many other modern players.

what is upnp?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UPnP

this might be the easiest way to implement it:
http://www.gupnp.org/ it needs a bunch of libs that we don't have though...

there's also libpupnp:
http://upnp.sourceforge.net/

i don't think i frighten him. it's up to him what he wants to implement, it's just suggestions.
besides, it's not all my wishes, it's all wishes from everyone in this thread. :)

* An option to skip tunes that get stuck in loops after x amount of time. It would be cool if this could be detected, so that only plugins with no song end detection got affected, or an option to manually select wich plugins it should affect.

back to what I had suggested at some point in the past:

mp3pro support. I've found this:

http://ttsiodras.googlepages.com/mp3pro.html

for linux and mplayer, a plugin from Thompson for xmms it seems. i don't know if that could help tunenet to get an mp3pro plugin. WMA pro would be nice too, but I don't have anything to point out to for help.

I think an option to override and choose what plugin you want to play chosen files. For example I have both GME and MSX plugins installed so that I can play all the old retro tunes from the 8bit days. The problem I have is when loading MSX .kss files tunet automatically selects GME to play the file, which sadly is unable to play 80% of the file I have where as the separate MSX plugin can play them all.

We're around, just... tied up. Every so often we talk about TuneNet but time seems to be currently split between work, family life & the remaining bit of chill out time gets the PS3 treatment.

I'll try to catch him one of the days in the week.

nice to see some life.
tunenet is the best audioplayer for os4, but the current development speed is way too slow...

have you considered letting someone join the team or open source it?

Aren't all the plugins on amiupdate already? Maybe it might be simplier to put them in a separated list, as with the SDK, so that anyone that still doesn't have them can still install them all.
