TuneNet plugin bugs
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

See User information
I didn't see a thread about bugs in TuneNet plugins so I started this one. I think I've found the culprit plugin that causes TuneNet to GR upon exit. After enabling the PSF plugin (not PSF2) and playing a song, when I exit TuneNet I get a GR that forces me to reboot if I want to use TuneNet again. Anybody else have this problem with the PSF plugin? Or if you're aware of similar problems with other plugins please post them here.

Edit: After further experimentation I've found that all of the plugins work just fine. What's happening is the bug I mentioned in the other thread--if I have more than 25 plugins enabled TuneNext without fail with GR upon exit. Only sometimes will it pop-up an Assign Requester, but it will always GR upon exit.

I agree; since there really are no problems that I have found with the plugins themselves, this thread isn't really necesary ATM. I'll go over to the AW thread to try and find out what's causing the over 25 plugin limit bug.

as i don't post on that other website, i hope you don't mind
keeping this thread alive?

it won't be long anyway, i just have to throw in my two cents

so far i have seen the following behaviours

plugins that crash after a song was played (tested with an
MP3 and ogg, so no special case with the plugin itself,
seems to be an descriptor error or something)

1) TN_AHX.tnplug 1.2 (20.03.2006)
(not sure where i got this one from)

plugins that crash regardless of a song has been played (say
you open TuneNet and close it immediately afterwards - could
be a problem of the Docky though?)

1) TN_YM.tnplug 51.1 (19.11.2006)
2) TN_YMAMP.tnplug 1.2 (17.03.2008)

the strangest thing though is, as soon as i add plugin
number 32, EVERY added plugin (as long as i stay with 32)
keeps brining up this infamous "Please insert "some garbage""
requester...there's something wrong there...

another thing is i cannot use skins anymore, it keeps telling
me there is a problem with the images...

The AdPlug plugin tends to cause some instability here.

I have 36 plug-ins and haven't seen a crash on exit (except perhaps if I have used AdPlug, can't remember the exact problem there)

Aaaah! So it's not only me who have problems with the adplug plugin.... can you post a crashlog?

@Raziel
Please don't use the AHX plugin, it's obsolete. The HVL plugin does a WAY better job at playing AHX music.

Sorry can help you with your other questions, try downloading the just released hotfix from os4depot.

@Bean
A good idea might be to replace the AHX plugin in the default archive with the HVL plugin (Yes, you are allowed to do that).
Not only because the HVL plugin does a better job, but also because the AHX and HVL plugins clash, as both play AHX tunes.

didn't think of the fact that some doesn't post on that other site... so having this thread running might be a good idea anyway... and it was just my personal opinion. who am i to decide? :)

This may not be a plugin bug, but since it occurs with only the OGG plugin(s), I'll post here...

Thought this seldom occurring bug was gone. Ogg Vorbis files play out as garbage when it occurs, restarting playback (but not pause/unpause) usually fixes it. Does anyone remember something like this? I can't really reproduce it, it's quite random. Technical details follow:

File headers for this time, but most of my Ogg files look like this:

Vorbis headers parsed for stream 1, information follows...
Version: 0
Vendor: Xiph.Org libVorbis I 20030909 (1.0.1)
Channels: 2
Rate: 44100

Nominal bitrate: 128.003000 kb/s
Upper bitrate not set
Lower bitrate: 0.097000 kb/s

Plugins available currently:

TN_PT.tnplug 26776 ----rwed
TN_OGG.tnplug 379708 ----rwed
TN_MP3CAST.tnplug 692920 ----rwed
TN_AIFF.tnplug 68204 ----rwed

TuneNet version: TuneNet 0.9258 (22.3.10)

I did have an unrelated DSI crash which I "killed" with GR, but at least with earlier program/plugin versions, GR was no requirement or prerequisite for the corruption.
