What is the fastest 3D graphic card we can use on our AmigaOne? Supported well by our 3D drivers?

9250 i think

If you want to go faster you can always take the card out of the machine, plug it in a PC and Overclock it.

Eg: Radeon 9550 is a cut down 9600.

You can reflash the 9550 in the pc with a 9600 bios and it will run faster, or use of the utilities that allow you to bump the speed 1Mhz at a time until you get glitches, then knock it back a few Mhz

The fastes graphic card with 3D support for the AmigaOne is the Radeon 9000 Pro.
With new driver which support R200 Chipset. The 8500 and 9100 will be the fastest.

Isn't Radeon 9000 faster than 92xx?

I have a 9200SE 128MB... on ebay i see very cheap 9250 and 9000.

Ok 9000 Pro. Does OS4 final drivers already support 9100?

How fast is 9000 Pro compared to 9250 and to my 9200SE? Thanks so much.

I could get one of these (very cheap on ebay):

It is much faster because the chipclock and the ramclock is higher.

Radeon 9100 and 8500 are the same card.
Its doubtful that there will be a 'working' 3D driver from Hyperion.

As for the 9250 I'm sure there are models upto 240/400Mhz... Oh well must be mistaken.

I bought this 9250 one because my 8500LE (64Mb)is not supported. Cost about 40? from a local shop (35? from the net) and as a bonus is passive cooled and now is quieter together with a newer fan for the cpu clocked to 933Mhz-original speed. The temperature dropped from 54C to
23C (800Mhz) and is now 27C (933Mhz). Specs:

Package Type : Retail
Chipset : ATI Radeon 9250
Interface : AGP 8x/4x
Video Memory : 128MB
Memory Type : DDR
Engine Clock : 240MHz
Memory Clock : 400MHz <---- See this one!
Memory Interface : 64-bit
RAMDACs : 400MHz
Max. Resolution : 2048x1536
Connectors : VGA, , Composite, DVI-D
DirectX Support : 8.1
OpenGL Support : 1.5

Does ATI have any good reason for their confusing product numbering system? Usually a higher number means a more advanced product.

9100 and 8500 have the same chip, but are not the same card.
Look here, the clocks are different:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R200

8500
coreclock: 275 Mhz
ramclock:275 Mhz

9100 only
coreclock: 250 Mhz
ramclock: 250 Mhz
It is a 8500 LE.

The 8500 Xt has nice clocks. :)
Coreclock: 300 Mhz
Ramclock: 300 Mhz

But the two cards don't work with Warp3D/miniGl at the moment. I hope we can see the greate performance of the R200 chip soon.

The 9250 modells with 400 Mhz ramcore are very rarely. The 9000 Pro is definitely the fastest card at the moment.

The wikipedia does not list all permutations of features, speed, memory width, etc. If you are looking for fastest, you don't want to get any card that says what these cards do in the specs list: Quote:
Bus memoria 64 bit
Quote:
Memory Interface : 64-bit

There are quite a lot of 9200s and 9250s out there without a full 128-bit memory interface. If they don't mention in eBay or on the box, assume it is the slower (cheaper) 64-bit memory version. Many of the auctions are just the text of the capabilities of the RV280 chip -- not the specific card they are selling. If it says something like "Available in both a 128-bit and 64-bit memory data path interface", that's just the GPU spec, so keep looking for more description of the model itself. I haven't ever seen one of the 256Mb versions with a 64-bit interface that I know of.

Edit:
Here is a two year old article (about the time they came out) about 9250s.

What might be the problem? These cards can't be much different from the other Radeon cards! If it is lack of documentation, how did the Morphos-peoples get it running with 3D?
I don't think it's such a big difference though. Maybe it's better to directly go ahead with 9600 and 9800 for some super-fast 3D action.

A 9000 is faster than a 9250?

I know a group of people that should be tortured. First they make 18 different cards, then they make the SAME manual for 4 of the cards they sell.

The manual that came with my 9250 says that there is 64/128/256 MB of memory....

SURE on the box it tells you it's 128MB BUT!!!! it does NOT say how fast the ramdac is, but it says UPTO 400 MHz.... Huh? Which one me got, duuuh....

Apparently it's 64/128 bit DDR memory, kind of covering all bases there. But I have????

How to program: 1. Start with lots and lots of 0's. 10. Add 1's, liberally.
