Sure, convert them to MPEG or AVI (i.e MPEG-4)

And yes, if you want some new format supported on the player you should request it to him.

No problem at all with Avatar here. It's one of the sample test I use. My version isn't protected.

Delete LIBS:avcodecs ALL with this version.

You can shoot me if this is a stupid question :)

You must remove the codecs additionnal library on LIBS:, to use this last version of avcodec.library

mrod............hello?

53.1 does *not* uses the libs/codecs from libs:avcodecs (eg, it does not even tries to open them because otherwise it'll just crash..)

Hence, it's safe to keep them as-is for people who want to test this new lib while keeping the old around (what is recommended for now)

Hmm, I don't think so.

Can you please post a couple of screenshots, one by using 51.52 and the other with 53.1?

Also, may do you want to use the debug version in case there's something related printed on the console.

The Avatar movie is something we used for benchmarks since the starting scene is a good one for such purpose, but neither mrod nor me noticed wrong colors. In the other hand, it seems you're the first X1000 user testing the new lib :-/

Can you provide some kind of SDK/include files for this library ? And are you working on avformat and swscale libraries ?

I think the problem is not your avcodec library.
I am X1000 betatester and can`t talk about that but i can use another
AmigaOS4.1 install.I will do some tests and post the result

Give me some time to prepare something.

No, not at this time. But, there's another bounty for them, however rather than a "companion library" i want to create a new library from scratch which will contain everything.

Well, if you get the same issue while using 51.52 then yes, isn't my lib

I am at a bit of a loss here.
If Mplayer can't use this library, and DvPlayer cannot use the additional formats without being updated, where can we use this library?

Who said it "can't"? it's just that it does not seems to use it.

DvPlayer needs to understand the containers, once it does any codec should be playable. For example 53.1 can play eg IV50 or WMVA which wasn't possible previously.

Like with any other shared library, anybody is free to use it - it's up to the developer.

Hello,

Using the debug library give more detailed informations on the DSI than with the normal version (and a log on a shell with detailed informations also).

When possible, give us a link for the movie by itself also.

Out of curiosity - could avcodec.library be also used to just extract the audio track from the video file?
