I've uploaded the new filer release.

http://os4depot.net/index.php?functio ... tility/filetool/filer.lha

53.28

Major changes for this version includes drag&drop between filers, drag&drop
from workbench windows to the filer and the navigation history.

Note that all but the Swedish locale files have been removed from the
archive since I don't maintain those myself. Make sure you delete any old
locale files before running the new version. New locale files for other
languages will be uploaded separately.

- Move window title into global buffer

- Make search search in current dir if no directories are selected

- Remember selected files when changing sort order

- Change the behavior of file flag handling

- Fix bug where drop destination refused to deal with drop

- Implement drag&drop between listers (Thanks Rigo!)

- Add workaround for IconX issue

- Add browsing history buffer

- Add drop down for browsing history buffer

- Make it possible to start drag&drop without first activating window

- Add position to browsing history buffer

- Change left/right in keyboard navigation to back/forward

- Remember file position in keyboard mode

- Write a selected node workaround to account for different behaviour in
singe and multiselect mode of listbrowser class

- Make close by ESC optional

- Add setting for drag&drop mode

- Finish drag&drop to filer window from appwindows

- Make sure that #?.info files are ignored when handling wb drops

- Fix window snapshot

$CD, $SPACE, $SIZE, $EDIT, $NEWFILE, $UPDATE, $PREFS
$ALL, $NONE, $TOGGLE, $WORKBENCH, $NEW, $CLONE, $INNEW

Thank you very much for the ongoing development.

I hope this and others will make it someday in the OS4 release, great additions

Can't say for now nothing constructive (not at home, can't test), but by the changelog, and new features, and last screenshot on os4depot, i can say that Filer one of those not-so-many-new-native apps which are very good ! Keep up that good work, and i hope that Filer will be included to the Aos4.1.2 update (or how it will be called) as addon and/or replacement to the WB (which are very primitive in the comparing with the Filer).

Thanks, will test it deeply later :)

Great work! One of the best program for Amiga. I use it every day!
But I found a bug in the new version. When I click very fast many times at the back or forward arrow-buttons then the complete system (sam 440ep, os4.1) hangs up

In Prefs, what does "Drag&Drop like Workbench" do?

I also found it disconcerting that drag'n'drop from Workbench to Filer caused the file to be MOVED instead of copied (as would be expected for a destination with a different volume). I know this is the default behaviour for Filer to Filer drag'n'drop, but we get a little mouse pointer icon to remind us, and can also change it by pressing Shift, neither of which happens for Workbench drag'n'drop. I think Filer should honour Workbench's behaviour, when Workbench is the source of the file, since one imagine's that Workbench is the one doing the copy (even though this isn't actually the case in the implementation).

"Drag&Drop like Workbench" it's what about you talk: it's allow you to choice : movie or copy (on/off that "drag&drop like workbench").

Still i think drag&drop need to "polish" a bit. I know, that Orgin make that drag&drop like some kind of "workaround" while Hyperion not introduced it fully in the aos4, but still, some "gui-like" bugs when you do drag&drop are here. I mean when you drag many files from one place to another, "auto-unselecting" of the one of items is happens. Also when you drag&drop it from/to WB, it's works a bit strange too (can't say constructive for now what exactly wrong, but will do that tomorrow).

That's an amigaos feature and not something that is a bug or something I chose, call Hyperion.

That's one heck of a lot of updates! Well done! Haven't finished exploring them all yet but here are a couple of things I'd like to see, based on your new features

1. Browsing history shared between filers, and possibility to display in the lister itself, although the popup is quite usable.

2. More configurabilty to the drag and drop.

eg I would like to be able to set it up so that dragging between listers coppied files, shift drag moved (ie the opposite of what you have now) but that dropping a workbench icon would list not copy the drawer dropped, or the drawer containing if it's a file.
