"Finally... I'm able to play YouTube player2.swf file. Yes..it isn't so accurated but is a good start..
there are a lot of other players that are shown correctly and so i'm sure that also YouTube will
do in a (near) future.."

I think the comment about gnash devs taking AmigaOS patches is the more interesting and encouraging!

The deadline for this project is 1st March 2010 for both a working standalone player and a working NSAPI plugin.
Wish you all the good luck on this bounty project!

According to the bounty, the port must work as an NSAPI plugin, which has become the de-facto standard for browser plugins. AFAIK, Gnash already features NSAPI, so its just a matter of porting that. I don't know if OWB for Amiga OS 4.x has NSAPI at the moment, but I'm sure that it will be implemented at some point.

@afxgroup

Nice progress.

No NSAPI support at the moment on OWB OS4, but yes OWB support it, almost on GTK, so maybe this is a Joerg job

The NPAPI (Netscape Plugin application programming interface) on IB2.4 uses Amiga library API, the standard OWB/Linux API uses .so files and sheared objects (linking at run time), oh and yes the IB2.4 API does not fully fallow NPAPI guide lines, yes I have written 2 x plug ins, one successful, and one not so successful, so I know what I'm talking about, I hope there will be a IB2.5 OS4.1 native whit CSS support and a more compatible NPAPI.

I think that the NPAPI should be Amigified with a shared-library instead of using a .so the way that Ibrowse did it. It's unfortunate that Ibrowse's NPAPI interface doesn't follow the spec fully. I hope that this is fixed, but it looks like Ibrowse 3.0 development is well and truly stalled. There hasn't been any non-flash plugin news on the Ibrowse website since 2006.

Hans

EDIT: Using archive.org, there have been 12 issues fixed, and 19 issues added on the "development radar" at the top of the Ibrowse website since October 28, 2007.

Good work! Nice to see flash plugin finally for our Amigas.

It's one of the last things I think we were missing and it's very good if the port can finally be made.

People like you keep the flag of the Amiga up high.
