DVPlayer? Any Good?

Hi all,

Been thinking about registering the full version of DVPlayer, now that I managed to get my ?A1 to work with a DVD drive.

However, having downloaded the latest version of DVPlayer with the latest codecs, I find that I can't get any encrypted DVD's (Europe Region) to work at all.

Any pointers?

Thanks.

Hi @Mikey_C

Been thinking about registering the full version of DVPlayer...
Me too! How do we do this? My registration got lost ago when i moved.

Any pointers?

I have problems with the AOpen 16x DVD/CD/RW. I think it begins with no DMA. How do I know that? I copied one 'problem child' to HD and ran it and it worked fine. So, I assume it's either device failure or bad cables. Getting ready to test for bad cables this weekend.

The audio codec needs to be downloaded separately from avcodec. Download a52_codec.lha and dca_codec.lha. And yes, DvPlayer is pretty good, although I really wish that we could have DVD menus supported too.

Email Stephen and he should be able to send you the current version.

@Mikey_C

It's good and the more people that register the better it will get.

First of all massive thanks to all involved in helping me get the software working, its working fine now and I was gonna buy it.

but alas I cannot.

Payment is either Credit card (Which I don't have)
or Wire Transfer, (which would be another ?20ukp on top -expensive)

Stephen Fellner, If you're reading this, er, any chance you could try Paypal???

Gutted I really wanted this

B*****ks. I thought always I can use PayPal with Reg.net. So I'm in the same situation as Mikey_C.

Set the currency to US and click update card. PayPal will appear. Reg.net really needs to update their system, Paypal allows payments in many different currencies.

If there is one video player to get on AmigaOS 4.x, it IS DvPlayer.

Fast (very), robust, capable of reading many formtas (only MOV and FLV are really the ones missins at the moment, and streaming too).

Stephen answers quickly when there is a trouble and is very kind.

What's more, its cost is far from high.

Don't hesitate, I could not live without it now

Hi Guys,

Yes, you can use PayPal with Reg.net if you specify USD as currency, but if you have any problems please send me an EMail and I'll be glad to help out. I'll probably add an FAQ at some point to make things easier.

Regarding DvPlayer's future, it's still in development, and I've recently added some things, which give a further 10% increase in overall playback speed, but it relies on a feature which is not included in the current 4.1 release (neither for A1 or Sam), so we'll have to wait for an update to 4.1, which hopefully isn't that far away.

I Purchased DVPlayer - Just waiting for the actual program now. As hans said, you have to pay in US Dollar in order to get Paypal up, beware though, you'll end up paying an extra ?3ukp extra in US Sales tax.

Looking forward to recieving it.

"VAT exemption ID"

Ok. I checked from a dictionary what "exemption" means and I figured out that I don't need such an ID because DvPlayer is going to my personal use and I'm not a reseller. So I left that field empty. At least PayPal told me it sent the payment.
