I am unable to get COW3D to work. I do have an X1000, 4.1FE, Warp3D installed, MiniGL installed, downloaded the 2012 Cow3D, followed the install.

INSTALLATION Install Warp3D.library or Wazp3D.library Copy Cow3D-Amiga and the
textures Cow_256X256X32.RAW & Cosmos_256X256X32.RAW where you want

I have Warp3D so that is what I have in my Libs drawer. I installed the 3 COW3D files on my Work directory. I double click the Cow3D-Amiga file then click OK to execte, it brings up a black window showing FPS and such on the top, but no cow. Nothing in the black window.

Do I need to click something to start the COW and it come on the screen?

I did download the TuxCart and it runs so I believe my Warp3D is running.

Try using cow3d-Amiga-ppc. IIRC, that's the OS 4 version.

Can you also test Quake3 (usual "timedemo 1"). Be sure it is IOquake from HunoPPC (download it here). Test mode: 1280x1024

Neither work.

Same blank window showing fps but no cow. 2nd window showing data text and fps too.

Just no video in window that should be a cow.

Try ignoring the installation instructions, and running it directly from the unarchived drawer.

Cow3D being very picky when it comes to Warp3D or Wazp3D.

Be sure to completely get rid of any Wazp3D incarnations on your system partition (or rename them)...it might pick up one Wazp3D library and another Warp3D...mixing them up

@all

btw: is Warp3DPPC.library still needed?

I also still have those in HWDrivers
W3D_Avenger.library W3D_Napalm.library W3D_Permedia2.library W3D_R200.library W3D_Radeon.library

and this in GFXDrivers
W3D_Picasso96.library

No risk. It's either WaZp3D (renamed in Warp3d.library when you want to use it) or WaRp3D (the usual warp3d.library).

Absolutely no risk of any mixing things. I f you use the new Warp3D form Hans, it will simply replace any existing version (whether it is waZp3.library renamed or the original WaR3d.library).

no, there is a risk.

Hans Warp3D_SI doesn't include a Warp3D.library

therefore you HAVE to revert back your Wazp3D-Warp3D.library to the original one.

At first, I didn't did it and the results were very very bad.

6) Hurrican Unfortunately, it crashs under FE (not Warp3D related, certainly related to WBRun FE bug)

Hurrican works perfectly here. I have version 1.0.0.7, in case there are different versions out there.

If you mean just un-lha it into my RAM or HDD and then launch it, correct?

Yes same issue for me.

Blank screen.... FPS counter showing around 110FPS but no cow or action in the window.

13) Smoking Guns from HunoPPC

Fast and smooth (more than 29 fps) in windowed mode or fullscreen up to 1280x1024.

Some strange colors sometimes (see second picture)

Hello

There is nothing complicated with cow3D just need a directory with

Cow3D-Amiga-ppc
Cow_256X256X32.RAW
Cosmos_256X256X32.RAW

and it should run

Also your workbench must be in a Warp3D compatible screen mode like ARGB 32 bits or RGB 24 bits for example

Yup, should be easy.

Could 1920x1080 be the issue?

Mine is 1920x1080 ARGB32

Yes all the files you mention I have in the same directory.

Success! Raziel wins the prize. In IRC he said maybe my download was currupt. I had downloaded it twice.... So, hell, try a 3rd time. #3 was the charm. It worked. So all is well. LOL
