@Mason

Great work, as always! Thank you very much.

I must also extend my apologies for violating the licence part about "No Derivative Works." Before this time, I didn't realize that this was a violation of the licence.

I now realize that I should have asked BEFORE building upon your AISS work, but would you consider granting a waiver for the following programs that have already been uploaded to OS4 Depot:
*MacLikeDock
*ExtraInfo
*PNG_Icon_Editor
*ScreenSelect
*SkinnableClock
(I think that's all of them)

Credit has always been given to you in the ReadMe files; but let me know if you would rather have me remove your images and upload amended archives to OS4 Depot.

Again, thank you for your artistic contributions.

 Re: AISS V4 - Amiga Image Storage System
Hi Mason.

How do I check if AISS is installed/working correctly.

I have backed-up prefs:sys:Env-Archive, and installed AISS4

Unfortunatly I got the following error message

Quote:
SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default/ - COPY: object name invalid
in an iconx shell.

The AISS Installation window gave me the following message

Quote:
The AISS Installation Wizardhas succesfully
installed the 'Amiga Image Storage System'
to your computer

You have to re-boot your system now!

Thank you for using AISS!

Finish button.

I have an icon in WBstartup which has iconx as the default tool, but I wondered how to test AISS is working?

I downloaded/unarchived AISS to its own directory, and it contains the following
Quote:
Directory Amiga:AISS

AISS4 [ 2921167]
AISS4 dir 450
AISS4 errors 363
AISS4.info 6561
aiss4.lha 2678150
aiss4.lha.info 8070
aiss4.pdf 1090431
aiss4.pdf.info 6071
The AISS4 dir, and AISS4 error files are only text files for this post.

AISS should be shipped with the OS, and all OS tools updated to use its images.

@orgin

I agree 100%, but I'm not sure if that would be OK with the "Noncommercial" part of the licence. (I don't know if that only forbids selling the images themselves or if it forbids selling a product that uses the images---hopefully the former.)

@swoop

Try this script

See the news item on AW for the changes I made.

 Re: AISS V4 - Amiga Image Storage System
@Severin

Using your script, I get the following in an iconx shell
Quote:
DELETE: object not found
SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default/ - COPY: object name invalid
When I tried to delete SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/ manually I get an 'object in use error'

The SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/ directory contains an empty directory named Contrib.
Both directories SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/ and SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/Conrtib/ have rwed as their protection bits.

At least I can manually install after printing off your script, I don't know why I didn't think of that before with Mason's .

Permission to use the images granted! I love to see more of your "bloated" software

@Swoop
Sorry for the error!

@Severin
Thanks for the script! I will have a look at it and change it asap!

@All

 Re: AISS V4 - Amiga Image Storage System
@Severin

I have found the reason for the following error message:-
Quote:
When I tried to delete SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/ manually I get an 'object in use error'
AISS and AISS.info were in my SYS:WBStartup from the 1st install, and that does an assign/link to the toolimages drawer. But having removed AISS from WBStartup, and using your script, I still get the following error:-Quote:
DELETE: object not found
SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default/ - COPY: object name invalid
But at least I could now manually delete SYS:Classes/ToolbarImages/

However your script now works and AISS was installed (I presume) OK.
It looks like some error checking on the delete command is required in the install script, but I don't know much about scripting.

Anyway, thanks for your help, and the amended install script.

Thank you so much!
(I will check with you next time, though, BEFORE I upload it to OS4 Depot.)
