After a long development break, new versions of the basic packages for the Unix environment "AmiCygnix" were released. In the main, bugs have been fixed which prevented the proper function of the X server on new Amiga systems.

New in AmiCygnix-Base:

* All display drivers and the X server binary were revised to fix the following problems:

- With newer graphics cards like the Radeon HD 7xxx the colours of the display were wrong. Fixed with the standard drivers and the rest for the most part.
- Since AmigaOS 4.1 final Update 1 it came to program crashes, if the graphic driver picasso96clonewbdb was used. Is fixed now.

* The display driver picasso96clonewbdb can now also open 32 bit screens internally, however, the data is still processed in 16 bits.

* The print command "lpr" now supports the printout via Turboprint whereby the print quality is increased.

* Updated SSL support over OpenSSL and GnuTLS. The included Trusted Certificates have been updated.

* Many more improvements and bug fixes.

New in AmiCygnix-Tools:

* The browser NetSurf has been relinked with OpenSSl 1.01o. Many SSL keyed pages could not be opened anymore. The problem is now largely eliminated.

* Current versions of the image viewer GPicView and the GTK+ 2.0 toolkit adjuster LXAppearance.

No more messy colors, and all fine :) Through what i notice (and it was always like this, so probabaly we disucss it before already), is that movement of mouse, windowses and all the stuff, are a bit slow. Of course understandable for windowses and so , but mouse works like it all 15 fps or so. IS there any way to deal with and make at least mouse cursor be more fast ?

The impression of you, that the frame rate is a bit reduced, is correct. The trick of the newer drivers like picasso96clonewddb and picasso96wb is that the X server writes the data into a hidden bitmap and a separate process copies the content to the display after a certain time. This time can be influenced by a hidden feature. But this should only make the pointer flicker a bit, the time for example it needs to move from left to right on the screen should be the same like on the workbench screen. Is this not the case for you? Just for a test: Please enable picasso96clonewb and launch the desktop. Is the behaviour of the pointer different? Moving windows should be much slower with this driver.

Windowses move a bit slow. There i was able only to test 16bit mode, as for 32one i have "sorry, 32bit mode didn't supported by this driver". Then i test again picasso96clonewbdb and whilve move of windowses looks like the same,the mouse movement is 15 fps. Maybe 20 :) I can't say that cursor flicker , its like it didn't draws on every position, and skip every second pixel or something.

What is your hardware configuration? (main board, graphics card, etc.) I don't have this problem here (X5000, R7 250X, OS4.1 final prerelease). Maybe a second test: What if you choose picasso96wb ?

As for second test: with pure picasso96wb mouse movements are the same 15-20fps. I can make a video to show what i mean if it will help

What happens, if you use a 16bit resolution? It should be faster because the X server internally always works with 16bit and the data must be converted all the time. But on my system the speed loss is not very high. A video would be great! Do you have some web space for uploading?

Didn't have to start over with settings. Start up of Amicygnix seems to be much faster, Abiword still seems to take a while to start, but typing responds faster, I think. Thanks you for your work. Can't wait to get this on an X5000. (waiting to get an X5000/40 at this point.) On an A1-XEG4 for now. Paul

I already made a port of PHP 5.5.10, but I have massive problems with it. I can't say, when I will have the time to try it with PHP 7.2
