WBStartup Arexx port or similar?

Does anyone have any inormation regarding an AREXX port of WBStartup?

I have a script that writes a little startup-script to the WBStartup drawer (before update 1) and to be started on a reboot/crash and be deleted after the script finishes.
That of course doesnt work anymore so i have to find another way to do so.

Is there anyone who knows of any way to add/remove WBStartup items based on a script/AREXX/Python to the new way of starting programs?

Thanks in advance

No problem. Write your script to S:ARexx, give it an icon (with start with "ARexx", "C:rx" as standard command), select it WBStartupPrefs. This is it.

The only thing you have to obey to, is to write to the SAME file (read: same file name) every time you write your script. This way your script is started ALWAYS on boot up. If you want to do nothing during startup then you have to write something, that doesn't do anything in your script...

I donnot know, if I got you right. This is how I start Arexx Scripts from WBStartup:

1. Dos Script (e.g. "DOSSCR"), which starts an Arexx Script (e.g."ARSCR.rexx") gets called by WBStartup.

e.g. for "DOSSCR":

run rx Work-1:ARSCR.rexx

2. created Icon for "DOSSCR" :

Type: "Program"
Bits: set "Script" bit
start through shell

3. Then I call this one in WBStartup prefs

Hope this help, also hope, that I translated everything right, because I use a german WB.

If WBsgtartup doesn't find the file to execute, it does nothing (no error message) so it is safe to call everytime on startup.
Your script can delete itself if you want.

OK, i changed my script to work with WBStartupCTRL from C:
Unfortunately, other than telling me it has been added nothing happens.
NOTHING has been added (checking with WBStartupPrefs and looking into the .prefs file, also doing a "WBStartupCTRL REMOVE MyScript" only triggers a "Module not found")

9.AmigaOS:> C:WBStartupCTRL add Temporary:Torrent/recover/Free_Range_Studios_-_Story_of_Stuff
StartupCTRL: Temporary:Torrent/recover/Free_Range_Studios_-_Story_of_Stuff added to startup configuration
9.AmigaOS:> C:WBStartupCTRL remove Temporary:Torrent/recover/Free_Range_Studios_-_Story_of_Stuff
StartupCTRL: Temporary:Torrent/recover/Free_Range_Studios_-_Story_of_Stuff - module not found

And of course, rebooting doesn't start the script because its simply not there

Sooooo, bug or did i do something wrong?

The script is a simple arexx script with an icon marked as script and c:rx and type arexx and everything one would need, but the cli command just doesn't add anything :-/

Help, please
